Vitamasques: K-Beauty Brand Masks Review Part 1

Hello! Today I’m going to review the Vitamasques masks that I got in my lovely batch that I told you about in my previous Vitamasques post.

I have really dived in with these reviews on each individual mask so I decided to break this post into two parts so you could easily access whichever mask you are interested about.

I really hope you like it and enjoy the read!

Citrine Face Mask

This was the first mask of the pack I used, since I was pretty excited with all the combination therapy claims, and also because I’m naturally drawn to minerals and colors so I was very curious about this one.

The fabric was different of the ones that had tried before, which were either soft and dense or like a more paper consistency, but this one was fibrous and soft at the same time. I did enjoy the smell and the application was really easy as it stayed on with no sliding or problems whatsoever. When I applied it, there was a lot of remaining serum on the packaging, which I like to use in my neck, hands etc.

After about 20 minutes I removed it, and most of the essence was absorbed into my skin. While other masks still are very damp when you retire them and others tend to dry up faster than they should, these worked perfectly in the prescribed time and the sheet mask was dry but not excessively when I retired it. While I was using it, it stung a little bit on my face, but my skin could have been sensitized due to the use of acids lately on my routine. Anyway it was bearable, just a little bit.

My skin looked brighter and felt great and revitalized, not much as hydrated and soft as evened up and energized. Would definitely want to try the other ones in the gemstones line to see the different effects they can achieve, so I’ll be really looking forward to get more of these.

Black Gold Mask

The next day I picked this mask because I’m always curious about products with gold in it (right as I write I’m spotting a gold speck in my left hand because I just used this one), and purifying masks have been my favorite for a long long time, though I now prefer brightening ones.

The mask fitted perfectly and was less soft than the first one and with more of a wipe consistence, fibrous and thin, with little gold specks all over it. The smell was pleasant though not very special for me, and I used the remaining essence on my neck and hands like always.

Charcoal masks have always been one of my most used ones, along with other charcoal products, since I have dealt with problematic skin and blemishes for the longest time, though that era seem to be over. Being accustomed to this ingredient, I knew it could be a little harsh on my skin but the mask didn’t feel uncomfortable at any time, though it was a little bit itchy, like the last one, in my driest areas like around the mouth.

After the initial occasional stinginess, the mask felt super fresh and relaxing while I had it on. I really felt in the mood of just enjoying the self care moment and peacefully wait til the alarm went off instead of keeping fiddling around with my computer.

In fact, I was so relaxed with this one that tried a technique that I had been looking to try for a while, and that is using a face roller over the sheet mask. I still need to investigate more about face rollers and maybe put up an article about those because they seem really interesting to me and I recently got my first one, an obsidian one from Fourth Ray Beauty. The more I rolled and the more I left the mask on, the more refreshing and amazing it felt on the skin, till I finally stopped and retired it. My skin felt cool and fresh and looked brighter than before using the mask

I have to say that my opinion on this one improved a lot after my first impression, which was good, but I grew to absolutely love its refreshing effect and the rolling experience! One very special mask to definitely try.

Multivitamin Sheet Mask

This one really caught my attention the day I chose to use it because with the spring starting and all, and though I always wear sunscreen, I had a little sunburn situation going on and my skin was really dry around the mouth. All in all I wanted a more nourishing/hydrating mask rather than a purifying one to let my skin recover a bit from the dehydration, so this mask seemed perfect with all the vitamins and nourishing power. It also claimed to have a brightening power which I’m always up for so I went ahead and picked it.

This one also had a lot of left over essence which I could use all over my neck, arms and hands, and it gave a very refreshing sensation from the beginning, kind of similar to the one I had at the end with the Black Gold mask, but this time there was no tingling or stinging.

I have to say that the face roller technique improved the mask experience immensely so this time I reached for it as soon as I was settled with the mask. I like to think that I make the most of the mask this way, since it is supposed to improve absorption of skin care products, and also the relaxing effect is boosted by the cooling quality of the mask so it was perfect. I think that from now on I’ll use my face roller on any mask that allows it!

When I removed the mask my skin felt really nice and comfortable, and it definitely added a beautiful glow to it!

Cosmic Pink Ruby Glitter Peel Off Mask

I picked this one as the first mask for a Friday Night skin care intensive. I was really curious about it because I had been hearing about and seeing glitter masks everywhere but I hadn’t had the opportunity to try one yet. I also had a Purifying one in my set, but since the good weather started my skin has turned a little more dry than usually, probably because of the action of the sun, so I picked this one since it claimed to be revitalizing. I usually prefer sheet masks to peel off ones, so I decided to leave the best for the end and use this one first and then end up the session with a sheet one.

I was advised to only use it in my T-zone because it could be a little painful to remove from the areas with peach fuzz and so I did, because I generally tend to have that kind of problems with peel off masks.

It had a really nice and fruity smell, and it was very refreshing when applied. I was afraid all the refreshment will turn into irritation, since I had just used a peeling cleanser before using the mask and I was scared that my skin might be too sensitive, but it didn’t. The refreshing sensation lasted as the mask dried and it did feel quite revitalizing indeed! I even felt more active and awake though it was late at night, nothing exaggerated but all the refreshment and nice fruity scent took my drowsiness away. I enjoyed the moment and left it on till it dried completely.

It was actually pretty difficult and a little painful to remove, but that has happened to me with every peel of mask that I have ever tried and I had already prepared myself to it so it wasn’t too annoying. My skin was all red when I finally took it all off but not in a bad and irritated way actually, more of that intense natural blush glow that you get when you have a fever. I would recommend using this before another more hydrating and deeply nourishing mask as I did, because your skin is left a little bit upset (though not upset looking) after the removal process and the sensation of a sheet mask after that doesn’t have a price!

Jeju Green Tea Mask

I had this one ready to use right after the Cosmic Glitter Pink one and I have to say that I couldn’t have made a better choice. I generally love green tea masks so I had been saving this one for I day that my skin really needed some love, and still it surprised me so much in a positive way.

The sheet was really soft and the essence had a texture that I really loved, kind of similar to real essence ampules and serums from Korean Beauty cosmetics. Usually the essence that sheet masks have tend to be a little too on the messy side for me, much more viscose than what I would wish for. But with this one it wasn’t the case, the mask was a delight to apply and after the peel off mask my skin felt instantly calmed and quenched. The left over essence on the package was a pleasure to use since it absorbed really quickly and had a very light weight but deeply hydrating formula.

Having it on was such a nice experience, my skin felt so so revitalized and cooled down since the moment I applied it, it was the perfect way to end my skin care intensive session.

I obviously had to use my face roller on it, but I waited for a bit so it had time to act on its own and when I felt like the main impact had already passed, I took out my roller and rolled and rolled over it while I finished watching a movie. I had had a very busy week so I hadn’t had time to use my face roller since the last time I used a sheet mask, so my face felt absolutely amazing while rolling over this mask. I know that I have said it quite a few times already but I highly encourage you to try and use a face roller over your favorite sheet masks since it is such an amazing experience and I think it really boosts the effect of the masks, and also it is as relaxing as ant other kind of massage – I’m always in pain so I’m a massage addict myself.

When I removed the mask my skin felt so amazing that I thought it just needed some oil to seal in the goodness (I picked argan oil in this occasion) and I could already get on my bed. Probably it was the combination of the hard to remove but effective peel off mask and the soothing properties of this one, but my skin felt perfectly smooth as I applied the oil, with zero roughness, impurities or dry patches. This was probably the most amazing my skin texture has been after a mask session! Will definitely use this one again.

And that is all!
I will be back very soon with the second part of this post where I review the remaining masks of the set and where I’ll also be giving some final thoughs and conclussions about them and the use of sheet masks or masks in general as a part of a self care routine.
I really hope you enjoyed it!
Lots of love.

Vitamasques: K-Beauty Brand and Products First Impressions

Hello everyone!
Today I bring you my first impressions about the English K-Beauty brand Vitamasques and a little bit of my opinion on skin care and how following a routine benefits both the physical condition of the skin and our mental well being.

The K-Beauty Philosophy

As I talked about in my last article, K-Beauty is all about enjoying the moment and making the most of your skin care routine. Skin care turns into the art of self care, where every second your spend going through your routine is a second you have for achieving inner peace and enjoy a pause away from the modern world.

I’m very happy to see that Western society is slowly taking these values as an example, and luckily now you can find European or American brands that are following the K-Beauty trend, and not only regarding the cute packaging and marketing. These brands are also encouraging the well being of their costumers, inspiring them to take this ‘self care’ routine seriously and offering products that allow them to sink into this routine in a conscious and motivational way.

I recently discovered the British brand Vitamasques, which is one of the above mentioned. Their products, which are mainly masks of diverse types, are designed following the lines of K-Beauty, not only regarding ingredients and packaging but also giving a lot of importance to that self care philosophy.
I have had the luck to be able to try this brand first hand and I want to share this little journey with you, so I’ll talk about my first impressions on the brand and products first and then I will try each one of them in a ‘skin care’ intensive when I will use one product per day and review all of them in another article, where I’ll give you my full opinion on the whole experience and the brand too, along with some conclusions on the importance and benefits of taking up the habit or transforming your skin care routine in an actual self care routine.

Vitamasques: The brand

Before my impressions I will let you know what Vitamasques has to say about itself as in their ‘About Us‘ section in their website:

“We’re a Korean-British brand pioneering affordable but effective skincare to the west. With our impeccable standards of production & design, we’re dedicated to ensuring our products are free-from as many things as possible, such as animal cruelty, parabens, mineral oils and sulphates.

We make our products with the latest innovations and technology straight from South Korea, with an emphasize of quality above all else.

Our no.1 priority is making sure our customers skin care is easy to use and affordable, while remaining effective.

The team is always pushing new formulations that are focused on getting rid of ‘negative’ ingredients and practices such as parabens, mineral oils, sulphates and animal cruelty . We’re also trying to make more products Vegan friendly too!”

I must say that besides being a shop, I find the Vitamasques website quite interesting and entertaining. You can clearly feel their passion for their brand and for what they offer. They have a ‘Skin Journal‘ section where articles about skin care and such can be found. For me, researching about what is good for your own skin is a very important step of taking up the K-Beauty philosophy, since each individual has their own necessities. Therefore, I’m always up for reading about skin care journeys, advice, reviews and what not, so having this section in their website is definitely a very positive point for me.

Also, they have another section called ‘Mask Finder‘ where they guide you through their products depending on what your skin concerns are and what you are looking for in a mask. Besides that, you can check out all of their products and recommendations in their shop section.

All in all the brand gives me a really positive vibe. As I have said before, the passion they have for K-Beauty is really noticeable and each product is designed with the greatest love. They want you enjoy using them as much as they did coming up with it and I think that’s simply great. Not many brands actually care about their costumers that much, and Vitamasques is definitely one of those.

It’s one of those brands that you feel good about supporting them, and that makes you rely on their products as much as in their passion.

Also mention that they have a physical store in London (you can find their exact location in their website), which I really wish I could visit, and that they have also a Youtube channel with tutorials, reviews and all kinds of useful and fun videos, along with other social media such a Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Masks Package: The products

I got a totally fantastic package where I could find a little bit of everything from the brand. It included a total of nine products, with sheet masks, sleep in masks, eye patches and much more among them, along with a super cute panda headband to make sure your hair is kept out of the way while you submerge yourself in the sacred time of the skin care routine.

I’m pretty impressed with the variety of the package and the masks couldn’t have made a better first impression on me.
Most of them are from types that I’ve been wanting to try since forever, for example the glitter peel-off ones, the eye patches, the sleep in mask, and of course the one that has me more intrigued and excited is the Citrine one, which is supposed to combine aroma therapy, gemstone therapy, colour therapy and skin therapy.
The selection of masks as I’ve said is quite impressive and the customer care is great. They really manage to make you feel that you have put your skin’s health into good hands and that they take the subject as seriously as you, and with the same amount of love!

I can’t wait to start using them, I will be reviewing each one of them as I use them in my notes and when I’m done with the whole package I’ll post another article with all the reviews and my final impressions and conclusions.

I’m so excited to begin this journey into improving my self care routine through a more deep, conscious and kinder skin care routine and I’m very happy to do it by the hand of such an awesome brand as Vitamasques.

Will be back soon with those reviews so stay tuned for more!
Thank for reading and lots of love!

Studio Fix Fluid Foundation from MAC Review

Hello once again! I bring you today the review of the Studio Fix Fluid foundation from MAC Cosmetics!

Last Friday I was really thinking about getting this super famous MAC foundation that everybody seem to love, since I love the way my skin looks when they do my makeup at the store and let me try new things. However, from ones of this visits I still had a little sample of this foundation. So, I finally decided to do a full test and review using the sample I had (which was very very generous), evaluating the Studio Fix Fluid foundation fully before deciding to buy one.

Also, as you might already know for my Top 10 Mac Cosmetics Products for this Summer 2018 article, Mac is one of my favorite makeup brands ever.

Studio Fix Fluid Foundation Review MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUEStudio Fix Fluid Foundation Review MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUE

The Product

The Studio Fix Fluid foundation is, along with the Face and Body foundation, one of the most popular ones from MAC Cosmetics. It claims to have a medium to high buildable coverage foundation, that helps control excess oil with a matte finish. It also has SPF 15 which is something I really like in case I forget my daily protection.

This foundation also reduces the appearance of pores, has a long wear finish for 24 hours, and also claims to be “perfect for photographies’. The Studio Fix Fluid foundation is also famous for its 57 shades, among which you can find a tone that adjusts perfectly to your skin. It is specially recommended for oily skin though it really is suitable for all skin types.

The Review

I had been matched with the shade 20NW and received a generous sample to test it out. The first time I tried it, I applied it in the morning, having washed my face with Coalface soap from Lush Cosmetics and moisturized my skin with some Million Dollar Moustuzier (a really great one that I wish they would bring back) that I had left. I applied it as it is advised, placing small dots of product in the checks, forehead, nose and chin, and then blending them out with a wet Beauty Blender.

Studio Fix Fluid Foundation Review MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUEStudio Fix Fluid Foundation Review MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUE

The finish is really amazing, and applying it this way you boost the natural and dewy finish that will dry up to be a perfectly fitting matte shade. I usually would finish off spraying some Fix Plus over my makeup, but since I wanted to test the foundation and see it real finish and the Fix Pluses that I had were of a particular finish (Pinklite and Matte), I skipped this step.

Since I don’t usually wear makeup on my everyday, I just wore the foundation and didn’t add any other product on top (I will usually go for blush as a first chance), to see how it worked on its own.

The shade, as I already knew, seemed a little bit darker or warmer than what I actually needed, but it blended really well with the rest of my body. The finish application and blending were really comfortable and easy. I absolutely love the way the Studio Fix Fluid foundation smells, it has a scent that really reminds me of some Clinique products. It it is a subtle but intense perfume, and it all kind of forms the whole ‘Studio Fix Fluid’ experience. The coverage is really nice, high but without looking unnatural, perfectly adapted to my skin shade and complexion.

The results

Even though I didn’t set it with any sprays, it still stayed transfer-proof and even for the whole day, approximately 12 hours between when I applied it and when I removed it. It wears out a little if you spend your day forgetting that you had any makeup on and putting sweaters on and off. I sincerely think that this foundation would be as unmovable as it can get if you too it with some good fixing spray. I would definitely go for the Fix Plus in Matte finish, and then use some highlighter where I thought I needed to ‘glow’.

It also stayed matte and with a nice finish even when it started wearing off, evenly and naturally, not with patches. It all made me really get my right shade figured out and buy one as soon as possible.

Though it’s quite pricy, it is not as much as the Face and Body Foundation (but also maybe because of the product quantity) which is 44 euros, the Studio Fix Fluid foundation is only 33’50 euros.

*In fact, the Face and Body foundation container has 120 ml and the Studio Fix Fluid foundation one has 30 ml, so the second one is actually much more expensive than the other one, probably due to its lower coverage and more natural finish.*

Conclusion

My goal is to set this one as my usual foundation since it feels so nice and professional, the coverage is perfectly buildable and the finish is really natural and matte but not flat.

I think this this foundation is one of the real deals, or possibly all MAC foundations are since they leave your skin looking so amazingly.

I will go with my instincts and order a NW15 or have my shade picked again and purchase the proper one as soon as possible. Also, I need to throw away some old foundations and this is perfect from bringing the ‘new era’ feeling to this autumn winter.

I’m so happy with so many makeup trends and collections, stay tuned for an insight into the holidays releases and season trends really soon!

Lots of love!

Pure Clay Cleanser and Pure Sugar Face Scrub L’Óreal Review

Today I bring to you the Pure Clay Cleanser and Pure Sugar Face Scrub from L’Óreal review! Since I shared with you my latest skin care routine and now there have been some changes, I thought I might as well share them with you, specially when the results are so good!

For the past week I have been trying a new face care routine, or at least I have implemented some new products, and now that I’ve formed an opinion I wanted to share my experience with you.

IMG_7673

Introduction

A few months ago, some new face care products by L’Oreal Paris were released, following their Pure-Clay line. I had already tried and love one of these masks, specifically the black one, which really seemed to help bringing more light to my face and evening out my skin tone. Anyhow, though I liked it, it took me forever to use it up and I didn’t think or repurchasing it.

This was months ago, so when they released the two new masks (yellow and blue) and added them to their Pure-Clay line, I wasn’t really willing to buy them all in a rush. Also I read somewhere (I haven’t contrasted this information still) that all the masks of the line had basically the same ingredients but different colors. Though I didn’t confirmed that, it was a bit discouraging so I postponed trying the new ones for when I was feeling in a more ‘clay mask’ mood.

A few more months passed and then L’Oreal Paris released two more lines of products following these original line: the Pure Clay cleansing gels and the Pure Sugar face scrubs. The second ones really caught my attention and I kept seeing both lines in adverts and posts all over the internet, so at one point that I had some store credit in the skin care department, I thought it was time to give these two new lines a try even if it was only to confirm that they weren’t for me.

Well, I couldn’t have been more wrong!

The products

I bought the Pure Clay Charcoal Detoxifying gel wash and the Purify and Unclog Sugar Scrub with kiwi seeds.

Here is what L’Óreal website says about them:

PURE CLAY DETOX & BRIGHTEN CLEANSER

Daily Cleanser with 3 Pure Clays and Charcoal. Detoxes & Brightens Dull, Tired Skin. Removes everyday impurities.

“L’Oréal Paris Skin Experts created our 1st range of clay-to-mousse daily cleansers that leave skin looking perfectly clear. Each cleanser is powered by 3 different clays in their pure form and enhanced with a nature-sourced ingredient. Indulgently formulated to seamlessly transform from clay-to-mousse, Pure-Clay Cleansers remove everyday impurities without overdrying. Pure-Clay Cleanser Detox-Brighten goes beyond daily cleansing to clarify and detoxify for skin that can breathe better. Immediately skin is purified of dirt, oil and pollution, and is left with a clean, clear healthy look. Skin looks revitalized with a fresh glow. Use after use, skin’s overall quality is improved. Dull skin appears more radiant and luminous. Skin looks more beautiful.”

PURE CLAY PURE SUGAR L'ÓREAL DEATHLESSVOGUE

PURE SUGAR PURIFY & UNCLOG FACE SCRUB

Deeply yet gently exfoliates for soft, smooth skin. Purifies & unclogs pores. 3 Pure Sugars + Kiwi.

“This Pure Sugar Scrub is made of three naturally derived sugars (brown, blonde & white) and enhanced with real Kiwi Seeds. This light, gel-like sugar scrub is truly kind to your skin. Because the scrubbing particles are made of sugars and eventually melt, harsh exfoliation is prevented. Purify and unclog pores for soft, smooth skin. See effective results immediately. With this exfoliating sugar scrub skin feels purified and clean. Dirt, oil and impurities are effectively removed. Dull skin is gently polished away. In 1 week: skin feels baby-soft, smooth and comforted. Pores look tighter, unclogged and less visible. Skin looks less shiny and rebalanced. Skin looks healthier, smoother, glowing. Can also be used to smooth and refine lips.

My first impressions were positive, I loved the packaging, and the gel seemed really easy to use, which I always appreciate since I’m accustomed to more natural and organic skin care that usually tends to be a little messier. Both products looked great and got your expectations high with some fancy how to use instructions and sweet promises about a better skin.

I must say that the Kiwi Sugar Scrub smells DELICIOUS. Like, really amazing. And the Pure Clay Charcoal gel smells exactly the same as its mask version (the black one).

I’ll list the ingredients of both products down here so everyone can know beforehand if this is a product that they might be willing to try or not.

F.I.L. # B210673/1

The review

Both products work amazingly. It really was a surprise to find that they worked so well for me, a wonderful surprise I must say! I’ve been looking for some ‘easy’ skin care products that I can use whenever I don’t have that much time but that still do their job and don’t upset my sensitive skin. With these, I’ve found them where I least expected them. Let’s dive in each one of them!

Pure Clay Detox & Brighten Cleanser with Charcoal

I use this now everyday, mainly at nights after I’ve removed my makeup or in the shower. The consistency is really great, it has a deep grey color and a fragrance that is the same of the Pure Clay mask of the same color. It foams up really quickly and after you have used it you feel your skin clean and smooth, almost as the same feeling you get with micropeeling products.

I’ve really grown to love it just through the start of my first tube. The packaging also is great for taking it anywhere you plan to sleep, or to the gym, the sink or the shower. It does an amazing job at reducing redness, pimples and blackheads. My skin hasn’t look smoother in a long time, and I must say that it is thank to this little gem. I’m really really happy I found it.

Also, you new very little product for each ‘wash’ so it really lasts a long time. If your skin is sensitive but on the oily/combination/acne prone zone, you have to give this a try!

PURE CLAY PURE SUGAR L'ÓREAL DEATHLESSVOGUE

Pure Clay Detox & Brighten Cleanser with Charcoal L’ÓREAL

Pure Sugar Purify and Unclog Face Scrub with Kiwi

This face scrub is really special due to two things. First of all, it is really dense and rich, and as much as it exfoliates your skin perfectly well, it also leaves your skin nourished, smooth and full of life. And second of all, the smell. The smell is so good that when I couldn’t decide which one of the three Pure Sugar face scrubs I wanted to try, I just had to buy this one for he smell (and the kiwi seeds too, that really pleased me). Luckily I can say that I didn’t make a mistake!

The sugar in this makes a perfect exfoliation, not harsh at all, the sugar almost seems partially melted into a rich creamy honey texture that replenishes your skin with shine and vitality at the same time that it gets rid of dullness and dead cells. It is all in all a delight to apply and have on. What I usually do is apply in the shower and leave it on for a minute before scrubbing it all and then rinse it of. This way I think I can get better advantage of this nourishing quality of it.

If you are looking for a good face scrub that leaves your skin amazing and smelling divine, this is the Pure Sugar scrub for you!

Focallure 18 Eyeshadows Bright Lux Palette Review

You all know by now that I have a weakness for warm toned palettes.

If you remember my article about them, warm toned palettes are not only a trend that doesn’t seem to grow old since it boomed last year, but also a blessing for me, who already wore dark red lip liner as an eyeliner in high school (dark times, dark places). In that article I presented some of the most popular palettes that followed this trend in the moment and a general overview on my opinion on the trend.
Anyhow, warm palettes are a marvelous gift from the heavens and today I bring to you the review of one of the most exquisite ones I have tried. I’m talking about the Focallure 18 Shades Full Function Palette, in the shade Bright Lux.
First of all here you can see some of the pictures from the company.

Does the shade selection looks familiar?

That’s probably is because it’s the most magnificent dupe (probably the best dupe of anything I’ve found in my whole life) of the famous Rose Gold palette from Huda Beauty.

What do I mean with a dupe?
I mean that the the quality of the Focallure palette is so fantastically amazing and I’m so impressed with it that I am actually quite shocked that it is so stunningly similar in quality. But let’s take things slowly and begin this review!

The Company

About a month ago I discover a fantastic online shop called Womental. I had been seeing their products over Instagram and I decided to take a look at their web.
In the makeup section the sell mainly Focallure products, of which I have never heard before this. The Bright Lux palette’s shades were too beautiful for me to resist it and after searching for some reviews online (all good, truth be told) I decided to get that one. They also have a Neutrals one version, that seemed more practical for everyday looks, but if you follow me on Instagram you know that I’m not that much intro practicality and that I can’t help falling in love with everything that shines, sparkles or has glitter. And also holographic stuff but that’s a subject for another day.

Returning to the palette,  after a lot of debate and scrolling up and down the site, I set my mind on that one and hoped for the results to be as good as they seemed on the internet. Obviously, I had my doubts, but this was probably the time that I learned to be open minded about makeup.

The brand

While my package was on its way, I did a bit of research about Focallure. They are a cruelty free brand (GOOD) that apparently is only available online through their own website or through resellers, and that specializes in makeup and beauty. They have a hue variety of products at amazing prices, and the fact that they sell to resellers too really pleases me, since they help and support growing business like the wonderful website where I discovered this brand, Womental. More point to them for that.

The package

The time passed and my very excitedly expected packaged finally arrived. First of all I must say a really big thank you to Womental. What was my surprise when I opened it that not only my palette was there in a perfect state (and it arrived pretty quickly from far far away, I must say) but also three lip products that were a complete bliss and that were sent as a gift.

Womental can have their five golden stars for this amazing service and customer care!

The palette

Now to the core of the question. The Focallure palette was in my hands and all I had to do was open it and swatch it and the truth will be revealed. I did. And guess what?

It was as amazing as the one from Huda. No, I’m not kidding. This is some serious business. Really serious.

Even if you are not searching for a Huda Rose Gold dupe but just for an amazingly pigmented and beautiful warm toned palette that can battle Modern Renaissance and win, this is the palette for you.

Concerning the packaging, I loved the overall feeling of it. The Focallure palette looks luxurious but elegant, shiny black with the right dosage of gold/rose gold details and a magnetic lock. Just perfect.

The shadows

"<yoastmark

"<yoastmark

There are seven foiled shadows, one shimmery shadow and ten matte shadows. I first swatched the foiled ones (obviously) and I was so so surprised. The pigmentation is like one I’ve never seen before. You can swatch them with your fingers and then swatch them in your arms and they’ll still look as if you had put eyeshadow primer under them. Perfect. Just perfect. The colors were perfect too.

"<yoastmark

"<yoastmark

At first I thought that the matte ones weren’t as pigmented but this was only that it took more than one finger swatch to get the surface of the shadow out of their ‘baked’ state. After this, oh my, the pigmentation on those too. The reds, pinks and burgundies look so so beautiful on the eyes. Just wait and see.

For the shimmery white shadow, the same thing happened as with the matte ones.

So, all of them were the perfect quality. And I’m saying perfect, which is not something I say that easily. The shadows are as I’ve said amazingly pigmented, the texture is buttery just to the right amount and they are still so easy to work with and blend. They are also long lasting and water resistant. You will need a good set of brushes for this palette because well, it is what you call a professional palette. No kidding.

Here you have a bonus video if you want to see that shimmering action!

As soon as I ended the swatching phase, I went straight to creating some looks to see how the Focallure eyeshadows worked on the eyes and with actual brushes. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves!

This look was a more or bright look where I gave a try at the cut creased trend. I mainly used Wine, Terracota, Toffee, Indian Red as a transition color and Moonlight and Garnet to highlight the lid, the corner of the eye and the browbone. Also I used extra Toffe and some Carbon on the outer corner of the eye to polish it up! I used a little of Lash Paradise mascara from L’Óreal and that’s it!

✨Night Lux✨ . And here’s the other look I made with the #focallure palette from @womental! . The colors are really similar but this is more of like a bold version, there’s more contrast and the brow bone isn’t highlighted. I also add some glitter and eyeliner and blended the cut crease so it will be more subtle! . Products used: @focallure 18 Colors Eyeshadow Palette in Bright Lux @lorealmakeup Lash Paradise Mascara @catrice.cosmetics Eyeliner Pen Waterproof version in black @wetnwildbeauty Color Icon Glitter in ‘Bleached’ . I really hope you enjoyed this one too. And have a happy Thursday! . . . . . . . @wetnwildspain @focallurebeauty #focallure #focallureeyeshadow #focallurelook #lashparadise #lorealmakeup #focalluremakeup #catricecosmetics #catriceeyeliner #glittermakeup #cutcrease #slave2makeup #mua_army #mua_world #mua #mualife #makeupartist #makeupartistry #undiscovered_muas #brightlux #hudabeautydupe #eyelookmakeup #muasfeaturing #deathlessvogue

In this one I tried to give a date nigh twist on the first look. It is more dark since it has more of the Wine color the outer color is a lighter mix of this one and Toffee. The cut crease is blended with someof this too, and the color Terracota goes up to the brow without highlighting. For the inner corner, I used Garnet, Moonlight, Bisque and some Wet n Wild Color Icon glitter in the shade ‘Bleached’. This time, I added a winged eyeliner with Catrice Eye Liner Pen in waterproof black and again the Lash Paradise mascara from L’Óreal.

I know that both of the looks are really similar regarding the color choice but that was totally my fault. It was my first ever warm palette and I wanted to play with those reds and pinks like crazy. Also, I must say that it was my first time trying a cut crease and I always thought the best colors for that technique are burgundies.

This palette is really versatile and in the next round I take at it I’ll sure be looking to create something quite different with the more gold/brown/orange section of the palette.
If you want to see how those turn out, stay tuned!

Conclusion

I just want to thank Womental for their fantastic service, their kindness and for introducing me to such an amazing makeup brand. I couldn’t be happier with this, and though this is mainly a review of the palette, I must say that the lip products they sent me were fantastic too (and smelled divine), so you will probably see a review about those around here soon, as well as some pictures in my Instagram (which I already took!).
You have to check out their shop, they also sell accessories, hair items, jewelry and what not!

This has been a very positive experience and I encourage you all to go out there and try and search and to look always beyond.

And of course I recommend this palette to all of you who can’t afford Anastasia Beverly Hills or Huda Beauty and still want to feel like a Hollywood starlet, because you deserve it!

I really hope you enjoyed this and lots of love!
