This post was originally thought for the beginning of the summer when the bleaching madness started but I’ve been so disconnected that it never got to see the light. They say it’s better late than never so here you have it!
Also this is kind of a different post (more of a personal/ranting approach), just in case!
With the summer I start to overthink again about getting a box of hair dye in the nearer shop and give the lightening process a try… one more time.
This made me thinking, is bleached blonde a thing that you have to do earlier or later in your life?
A good platinum blonde shade not only gives you the most polished look you can ever imagine but a certain iconic image we always have wanted to recreate. The term ‘blonde bombshell’ is so deep inside our minds and society: a platinum blonde mane means elegance, style, luxury, but also glamour and rock and roll. Is as versatile as a good hair color can be.
The key to this look is keeping a perfect face, even if it is just basic make-up or a BB cream, this style surely gets its best when paired with some bold eyes or lips. Black and red are is allies, and you can play all around with the rest of the colors depending on if you want a grunge look, a vintage glamorous one or a runway one. It can be played all the ways you want it to!
Blonde hair has the power to make you completely addicted to it. Even when you have swore that you’ll never destroy your hair that much again in your life, one day you realize that you are buying a box of bleach or a highlights kit or a progressive lightening spray and then the dream (nightmare) starts again. Opposite of what most people may think, hair is really delicate and too much lightening can cause serious damage to it.
And then of course, there’s also your worst enemy if you are blonde: brassiness.
There you have one if the main reasons that make people, and also myself, quit trying to achieve the perfect blonde. Also don’t forget its side kick, green hair, which can appear after too much processing and dying and toning trying to get rid of the orange tones. Too much ashy tones mixed up with bleached hair can cause some green hues in your hair, which in my experience never get out unless you cut it. All in all, bleach blonde is as suitable as difficult to achieve, specially if you are one of those people that have to do everything themselves (like me). Then this might be your pending subject for a long time!
