This is another post about this palette trend that I had ready before the summer and that I wanted to post before I started the new year! I also updated it a bit so I could include some recent discoveries, enjoy!

Warm toned eye looks are a big thing right now.
Personally this make-up trend is one of the most flattering in the last times. Specially suitable for brown eyes and autumn colors hair, it can actually fit any eye color or complexion. The beauty of this look is that, even when it’s perfectly worked and detailed to any glamour level you want, it still looks kind of natural. Earthy tones speak to us about falling leaves, deep forests, fireplaces and candles. Even with bright hues or the use of glitter, these tones guarantee you a soft appearance, warm and magical, ethereal like the evening sunlight.
The thing is, actual autumn is just around the corner and this trend seem to be preparing its greatest act. Pretty much every cosmetic line has been launching their own version of the ‘perfect warm tones palette’ for the past months. Let’s say for example Lime Crime, Anastasia, and most recently even Urban Decay jumped on the bandwagon with their Naked Heat palette. So, if autumn is always a season for earthy tones, this year is going to be as big as it can get.

What colors do these palette actually contain? The most popular options are oranges, deep burgundy reds, soft browns and sparkly peachy tones. The selection allows you to create for the most simple and subtle/shy looks to the most glamorous one using glitter and a perfectly defined and sharp black eyeliner. These hues are also very favorable to recreate the trendy halo eyes look that has been going around so much lately. For me, all these colors give away a sensation of a naturally edgy-grunge-couldn’t care less look, along with some innocent and even fairy-like look.

From my point of view, the perfect choices to complete this look is a warm toned hair color like a gingery red, a chocolate brown, a strawberry blonde – all in all anything with a warm under tone (imagine the colors of autumn leaves!), and some fake freckles if you don’t already sport some real ones! Some of us are not that lucky.
You can achieve these in multiple ways and if you have doubts you sure can search for a thousand tutorials, but my favorite techniques, and the ones that I think that are the easiest are these. Use a brown mascara that goes well with your complexion and use the brush lightly (or other brush you may wish) to create natural and uneven looking freckles, or if you want to have more control over the size and distribution of the freckles, use a matte long lasting eyeliner pencil or gel. Marc Jacobs Beauty used this last technique on Selena Gomez for her latest video, Fetish. Remember to pair all this with a flawless complexion that doesn’t look to heavy, go for a good coverage but of a dewy/natural finish. You even may be good to go with some concealer and mattifying powder.

If you are willing to try this trend, you can start practicing this look all through the summer, starting with softer and simpler look, just combining a few shadows to enhance your bronzed beach style.
