Balmain Spring 2019 Ready To Wear Collection

We all remember the latest Balmain collection.

A dream of holographic neon dreams embodied into metallic elegance. It was one of my favorite fashion shows ever, along with the Spring Summer 2016 collection from Marc Jacobs or the legendary tribute that Versace made to its own creator in 2018. Olivier Rousteig channeled all of french glamour into a disco heaven and the illusion dazzled among us for months. The amazing trend breathed through funky music and synthesizers and started to evolve. And again for the new season, in the latest Paris Fashion week on September, he brought us a new show were his vision became alive again.

Olivier and Balmain

Olivier Rousteig has that ability that not everybody will consider something positive but that is actually quite effective in the crafting of a fashion concept. He knows what to capture from each trend that is brought on by every creator and collective, and makes his on tribute to it in his collections.

Also I think that if the previous Spring Summer collection and the Fall Winter 2018 one were a little bit more disconnected between them, this one is a perfect follow up of the latest collection. You can clearly see that holographic disco dream evolving into more light textures, softer colors and more translucent or transparent crystal like creations. He manages to almost fit both collection into one unique season-evolving work of art, the year of the glam.
Since this is I think a really remarkable characteristic of this collection – its deep relation with the previous one – I’m going to pose this article a little bit differently. Not only this collection seems like an evolution of the previous one, but within it the different concepts seem a lot more related to each other, and you can see the contrasting inspirations blend into each other in a carousel of perfectly matching influences.

But first of all and as always, let’s appreciate the show itself in its full glory and then we’ll proceed to discuss the more iconic pieces of this astounding collection.
Enjoy!

The Fashion Show

The 28th of September 2018 at 11:30 a.m. local time, took place the presentation of the Balmain Spring Ready-To-Wear 2019 collection during the Paris Fashion Week.

As always, the elegant and minimalist staging, in that beautiful and already known to all lounge that breathes of Versailles influence with its mirrors, columns and chandeliers, was the key to presenting this collection in a perfect way, where each item is a work of art itself from which you can’t take your eyes off.

Let’s dive into the Parisian chic magic of this incredible show.

The Looks and Inspirations

The show opens up with a fierce entrance by Cara Delevingne, who I must say it’s not of my favorite models but does an amazing job here at starting the show lip syncing to the amazing ‘When Doves Cry‘ by Prince, that started before the show in its cover version by Quindon Tarver . I’m not a big fan of hers but I’m definitely a fan of spectacle and attitude and this moment set ups the mood for the whole show majestically. Her outfit its the pure embodiment of her attitude, an armored metallic top that we’ll see different versions of during the show and man suit cut dream of white satin that flows behind her as a royal cape. The outrageous femininity of the Balmain army is at its peak from the moment the show starts.

Iridescence and White

The first row of creations are an ode to white in all its possible textures and shapes. We see flowing satin, transparencies, and geometric constructions and patterns that either fit the body’s figure or create and entire different volume itself. Where we had a bold and dark holographic statement in the last collection, we have here the luminosity of iridescence.

Metallic finishes are also present in accessories and garments, always in silvery or cold shades that compliment perfectly the purity and versatility of white. Also we can see some asymmetric designs that combine the impression of more than one cut or texture at the same time.

Egypt and Paris

Then the show develops into a tribute to the Egyptian civilization. This will come in the form of marbled patterns, over black and white grays that remind of the stones used for their monumental constructions, also using different finishes to embellish the pieces. Later on, this influence will become as clear as hieroglyphics patterns over more classic textures like cotton or wool, may I say I guess even linen to carry the tribute to the next level, as ‘Another One Bites the Dust‘ by Queen starts playing.

Here we may quote what Olivier Rousteig himself said about this collection:

“It’s Paris meets Egypt, because every morning when I wake up I see the Obélisque on La Concorde, and the Pyramide du Louvre… I think it’s really important to mention that so much of the beauty of Paris is in its history, and its history is not only what we call French.”

Denim Armor

Denim makes it first appearance on the show accompanied by more of these iconic armors that also remind of a Cleopatra inspired aesthetic. The pointy shoulder pads keep plaguing the designs, making a bold statement of power and elegance.

The denim appears washed out, torn and worn out, combining it with some polished pieces of a meticulously treated finish, like gauze or sequins. I’m particularly fond of the use of super light, almost white denim that appears strategically bleached, specially in a jacket that you can see below and that is one of my favorite pieces of the whole collection.

Nudes and Pastels

After a brief interlude of white, the nude colors start to appear with different textures and effects. The shades chosen are much more powdery and blushed that the ones of the last collection, giving a more appropriate feeling for spring. Reflecting garments and soft finishes like velvety textures and leather are all over these pieces, playing with gradients of tones and fabrics to put together the most elegant looks of the collection.

The nude shades then blend into pastel colors that still say ‘Balmain’ with every inch of its geometry. Where we had neons over black for the past fall, we have now a delightful combination of minty greens, pale pinks, salmons and washed out blues, that once again are combined with denim and with the metallic accessories that are always the leif motiv of Olivier Rousteig collections.

For me, this metallic obsession becomes specially appealing when it’s in the form wonderfully reflecting and dazzling shattered mirror form, sometimes achieving the category of angelic disco ball armor. The beauty of these pieces is simply astonishing.

Geometric Classicism

After that the collection arrives to a point where it retrieves the most classical lines of fashion. Pieces in fabrics that remind those of the most classic Chanel designs, in simple but elegant black and white. Anyhow, in spite of this classical inspiration, the shapes and cuts of the pieces adopt one more time the characteristic geometry of Olivier Rousteig designs, going back from time to time to this ethereal concept of asymmetry.

The most remarkable designs of this row are for me these two below, where we can see the now almost traditional Balmain dress cut in intricate patterns that remind of empty 3D spaces and models.

Structure and Texture

To end the show, the black and white line of creation keeps being expanded and developed into multiple different designs and pieces that use the combination of textures and finishes to achieve an elegant but transgressive visual impact.

Playing around with this concepts, always faithful to his style, the collection and the show is finished impeccably.

Bravo!

Details

Here we can see the details of the designs more closely.

Plastic garments such as the original handbags and high heeled shoes are present all through the collection, often combined with metallic finishes, crystals and synthetic transparencies.

Beauty

To draw attention to the impressive creations, the beauty department behind Balmain’s show chose once again a very clean and polished makeup for the models. The idea is to achieve a perfectly flawless and natural looking skin full of youth and health, with very subtle colors that create almost a no-makeup makeup look that let the outfits shine through.

The same concept is applied to the hair, were you can see it is almost always polished pulled back or left to naturally flow around in a side parting, not to steal the thunder from the collection.

All our attention is drawn to the fashion creations in a masterfully way.

And that is all for now!

I really hope you enjoyed this collection and that you can take some inspiration from it for next spring. I personally enjoy a lot that Olivier Rousteig chose to expand the disco inspiration that he followed in his last collection with a lighter and brighter twist in this one. I expect

Studio Fix Fluid Foundation from MAC Review

Hello once again! I bring you today the review of the Studio Fix Fluid foundation from MAC Cosmetics!

Last Friday I was really thinking about getting this super famous MAC foundation that everybody seem to love, since I love the way my skin looks when they do my makeup at the store and let me try new things. However, from ones of this visits I still had a little sample of this foundation. So, I finally decided to do a full test and review using the sample I had (which was very very generous), evaluating the Studio Fix Fluid foundation fully before deciding to buy one.

Also, as you might already know for my Top 10 Mac Cosmetics Products for this Summer 2018 article, Mac is one of my favorite makeup brands ever.

Studio Fix Fluid Foundation Review MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUEStudio Fix Fluid Foundation Review MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUE

The Product

The Studio Fix Fluid foundation is, along with the Face and Body foundation, one of the most popular ones from MAC Cosmetics. It claims to have a medium to high buildable coverage foundation, that helps control excess oil with a matte finish. It also has SPF 15 which is something I really like in case I forget my daily protection.

This foundation also reduces the appearance of pores, has a long wear finish for 24 hours, and also claims to be “perfect for photographies’. The Studio Fix Fluid foundation is also famous for its 57 shades, among which you can find a tone that adjusts perfectly to your skin. It is specially recommended for oily skin though it really is suitable for all skin types.

The Review

I had been matched with the shade 20NW and received a generous sample to test it out. The first time I tried it, I applied it in the morning, having washed my face with Coalface soap from Lush Cosmetics and moisturized my skin with some Million Dollar Moustuzier (a really great one that I wish they would bring back) that I had left. I applied it as it is advised, placing small dots of product in the checks, forehead, nose and chin, and then blending them out with a wet Beauty Blender.

Studio Fix Fluid Foundation Review MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUEStudio Fix Fluid Foundation Review MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUE

The finish is really amazing, and applying it this way you boost the natural and dewy finish that will dry up to be a perfectly fitting matte shade. I usually would finish off spraying some Fix Plus over my makeup, but since I wanted to test the foundation and see it real finish and the Fix Pluses that I had were of a particular finish (Pinklite and Matte), I skipped this step.

Since I don’t usually wear makeup on my everyday, I just wore the foundation and didn’t add any other product on top (I will usually go for blush as a first chance), to see how it worked on its own.

The shade, as I already knew, seemed a little bit darker or warmer than what I actually needed, but it blended really well with the rest of my body. The finish application and blending were really comfortable and easy. I absolutely love the way the Studio Fix Fluid foundation smells, it has a scent that really reminds me of some Clinique products. It it is a subtle but intense perfume, and it all kind of forms the whole ‘Studio Fix Fluid’ experience. The coverage is really nice, high but without looking unnatural, perfectly adapted to my skin shade and complexion.

The results

Even though I didn’t set it with any sprays, it still stayed transfer-proof and even for the whole day, approximately 12 hours between when I applied it and when I removed it. It wears out a little if you spend your day forgetting that you had any makeup on and putting sweaters on and off. I sincerely think that this foundation would be as unmovable as it can get if you too it with some good fixing spray. I would definitely go for the Fix Plus in Matte finish, and then use some highlighter where I thought I needed to ‘glow’.

It also stayed matte and with a nice finish even when it started wearing off, evenly and naturally, not with patches. It all made me really get my right shade figured out and buy one as soon as possible.

Though it’s quite pricy, it is not as much as the Face and Body Foundation (but also maybe because of the product quantity) which is 44 euros, the Studio Fix Fluid foundation is only 33’50 euros.

*In fact, the Face and Body foundation container has 120 ml and the Studio Fix Fluid foundation one has 30 ml, so the second one is actually much more expensive than the other one, probably due to its lower coverage and more natural finish.*

Conclusion

My goal is to set this one as my usual foundation since it feels so nice and professional, the coverage is perfectly buildable and the finish is really natural and matte but not flat.

I think this this foundation is one of the real deals, or possibly all MAC foundations are since they leave your skin looking so amazingly.

I will go with my instincts and order a NW15 or have my shade picked again and purchase the proper one as soon as possible. Also, I need to throw away some old foundations and this is perfect from bringing the ‘new era’ feeling to this autumn winter.

I’m so happy with so many makeup trends and collections, stay tuned for an insight into the holidays releases and season trends really soon!

Lots of love!

Dolce&Gabanna Fall Winter 2018/19 Fashion Show and Video

This show breathes eclecticism and 80s. And the 80s were itself an era of aesthetic eclecticism, so this collection by Dolce&Gabanna was the epitome of it. A festival of luxury and trends mixed up in the most exquisite way. Dolce&Gabanna sells an ideal of beauty, youth, provocation, elegance and baroque. Everything is combined to give each look an unique appearance with a general halo of royalty.

Dolce&Gabanna: A bit about the house

Dolce&Gabbanna is one of the brands that I think achieves the royalty vibe masterfully. Jewelry is a really important aspect of both the shows and the collection, accessories are a must, often combining more than one, and gold always play an important goal. In my opinion the choose this approach even with their model choice: every model in a Dolce&Gabanna show is gorgeous. It is just like that. If not because of the clothes, you can instantly recognize a Dolce&Gabanna show because of the models.

D&G models

They are not an invisible thin mannequin to put their designs on. They are stunning, their makeup is done to emphasize every feature of their faces. Bold red lips, great skin, perfect glow, winged eyeliner. Really classical of you think about it. They strive to make the woman look one with the clothes, using their beauty to create a fierce look of emperess and queens.

This is one thing I really admire of them because they let the women be the center of attention, they are not objects, they are powerful, they are there, you can’t help but noticing them. And they are everything in the world in that moment.

Another characteristic of this collection and of Dolce and Gabanna itself is that they make fashion their religion. Every look is an icon, everything is divine. A lot of Christian references can be found in this collection and in others of this house., as well. Fashion is the sacred goddess to which they offer their work, honoring her.

I love Dolce and Gabanna because of this.
And now for the collection.

Dolce&Gabbana Fall Winter 2018/19 Fashion Show

First of all as always, the show.

This is a collection full of references and accessories. It is a deeply embellished creation with so many elements and so well applied. You can see influences from the 80s, Christianity, royalty, Japanese elements, lots of jewelries, gold, silver, precious stones. Everything is about having it all.

As we said in the beginning, eclecticism, youth, beauty, power. Divinity.

Let’s see now some of my favorite looks.

Santa Moda and Baz Luhrmann

You can see a lot of influence of this ‘fashion is religion’ concept in many of the creations directly represented by slogans like ‘Santa Moda’ or ‘Fashion sinner’. This is probably my favorite part of the collection. If you have ever seen a Baz Luhrmann movie, specially something like Moulin Rouge! or Romeo + Juliet, you’ll understand that the general aesthetic of this collection really remind me of them: extravagance, youth, christian imaginery, a touch of Hispanic culture (just in the above left outfit you can see Spanish and the colors of the Spanish flag), including christian catholic symbols and the ecclecticism of the 90s and 80s. Both Baz Luhrmann and Dolce&Gabanna seem to adore these Spanish references though D&G usually tends to the Italian side of it.

Also the regular opulence of Dolce&Gabanna, represented by rich textures and incredible jewelry that give everything a royal halo. The red is always important, as they usually adopt a shade similar to Valentino red to symbolize passion, in this case for fashion itself. Also note that D&G models regularly wear red lips as a statement more than a touch of makeup.

The looks are absolutely stunning and keep astounding you one after another (not saying that they all are that great, but mainly yes), varying their style but staying true to the general concept of the collection and the show.

Spain, Italy and Catholicism

We continue with the Spanish and Catholic symbology. We can see looks inspired in the traditional outfits that catholic women wear to church, specially in these regions that D&G loves so much, always in love with that 60s vibe of the great era of Italian cinema. I always think that every model is dresses as if she were Sofia Loren when they use this type of symbology. On the right we can see how this gorgeous dress modeled by the always-royal-looking Sasha Pivovarova, clearly inspired by the flamenco dress.

The more I keep looking at the outfits the more they remind me of Baz Luhrmann aesthetics as I have said. These all could easily be the custom designs for one of his movies. I sincerely hope by the way that some of this inspiration actually reaches him and makes him go back to doing something as amazing as Moulin Rouge! because I really need it. Or something like The Great Gatsby will be fine too.

The 80s Ecclecticism

Here you can also start to spot that obvious 80s and 90s influence in the collection: pop colors, appealing finishes and textures, baroque in the details and accessories. Sequins and a general vibe of a Madonna movie in the 80s.

By the way I think I’m getting a Madonna T-shirt in the next few days because I need to reinforce that 80s weakness this summer.

Black

One of my favorite looks also were (as it couldn’t be other way) the black ones. Black is the queen of colors as Renoir said, and he knew what he was saying. This outfits summarize all of the other inspirations of this collection and tone it down with a dash of elegance, lace and stunning mastery in the domain of jewelry and accessories.

I have to point out that again, the lace that accompanies the majority of the black designs, is inspired by the veils (which were also in the collection though I didn’t include them) and the gloves wore by catholic women to church in the 50s and 60s. I have the ones from my grandmother still and I must say that it is a gorgeous inspiration and I really love how they have used it.

Accessories and details

Lastly, let’s see a bit of the details of all these amazing designs.

Don’t forget the importance of opulence, jewelry and designs with gold and precious stones such as rubies and pearls, which is a main pillar of this collection’s concept.

And that’s it for now! I really loved this collection and everything about it looks fresh and exquisite to me.
I’ll probably go and watch Romeo + Juliet now!

I hope you enjoyed this one and lots of love!

Pure Clay Cleanser and Pure Sugar Face Scrub L’Óreal Review

Today I bring to you the Pure Clay Cleanser and Pure Sugar Face Scrub from L’Óreal review! Since I shared with you my latest skin care routine and now there have been some changes, I thought I might as well share them with you, specially when the results are so good!

For the past week I have been trying a new face care routine, or at least I have implemented some new products, and now that I’ve formed an opinion I wanted to share my experience with you.

IMG_7673

Introduction

A few months ago, some new face care products by L’Oreal Paris were released, following their Pure-Clay line. I had already tried and love one of these masks, specifically the black one, which really seemed to help bringing more light to my face and evening out my skin tone. Anyhow, though I liked it, it took me forever to use it up and I didn’t think or repurchasing it.

This was months ago, so when they released the two new masks (yellow and blue) and added them to their Pure-Clay line, I wasn’t really willing to buy them all in a rush. Also I read somewhere (I haven’t contrasted this information still) that all the masks of the line had basically the same ingredients but different colors. Though I didn’t confirmed that, it was a bit discouraging so I postponed trying the new ones for when I was feeling in a more ‘clay mask’ mood.

A few more months passed and then L’Oreal Paris released two more lines of products following these original line: the Pure Clay cleansing gels and the Pure Sugar face scrubs. The second ones really caught my attention and I kept seeing both lines in adverts and posts all over the internet, so at one point that I had some store credit in the skin care department, I thought it was time to give these two new lines a try even if it was only to confirm that they weren’t for me.

Well, I couldn’t have been more wrong!

The products

I bought the Pure Clay Charcoal Detoxifying gel wash and the Purify and Unclog Sugar Scrub with kiwi seeds.

Here is what L’Óreal website says about them:

PURE CLAY DETOX & BRIGHTEN CLEANSER

Daily Cleanser with 3 Pure Clays and Charcoal. Detoxes & Brightens Dull, Tired Skin. Removes everyday impurities.

“L’Oréal Paris Skin Experts created our 1st range of clay-to-mousse daily cleansers that leave skin looking perfectly clear. Each cleanser is powered by 3 different clays in their pure form and enhanced with a nature-sourced ingredient. Indulgently formulated to seamlessly transform from clay-to-mousse, Pure-Clay Cleansers remove everyday impurities without overdrying. Pure-Clay Cleanser Detox-Brighten goes beyond daily cleansing to clarify and detoxify for skin that can breathe better. Immediately skin is purified of dirt, oil and pollution, and is left with a clean, clear healthy look. Skin looks revitalized with a fresh glow. Use after use, skin’s overall quality is improved. Dull skin appears more radiant and luminous. Skin looks more beautiful.”

PURE CLAY PURE SUGAR L'ÓREAL DEATHLESSVOGUE

PURE SUGAR PURIFY & UNCLOG FACE SCRUB

Deeply yet gently exfoliates for soft, smooth skin. Purifies & unclogs pores. 3 Pure Sugars + Kiwi.

“This Pure Sugar Scrub is made of three naturally derived sugars (brown, blonde & white) and enhanced with real Kiwi Seeds. This light, gel-like sugar scrub is truly kind to your skin. Because the scrubbing particles are made of sugars and eventually melt, harsh exfoliation is prevented. Purify and unclog pores for soft, smooth skin. See effective results immediately. With this exfoliating sugar scrub skin feels purified and clean. Dirt, oil and impurities are effectively removed. Dull skin is gently polished away. In 1 week: skin feels baby-soft, smooth and comforted. Pores look tighter, unclogged and less visible. Skin looks less shiny and rebalanced. Skin looks healthier, smoother, glowing. Can also be used to smooth and refine lips.

My first impressions were positive, I loved the packaging, and the gel seemed really easy to use, which I always appreciate since I’m accustomed to more natural and organic skin care that usually tends to be a little messier. Both products looked great and got your expectations high with some fancy how to use instructions and sweet promises about a better skin.

I must say that the Kiwi Sugar Scrub smells DELICIOUS. Like, really amazing. And the Pure Clay Charcoal gel smells exactly the same as its mask version (the black one).

I’ll list the ingredients of both products down here so everyone can know beforehand if this is a product that they might be willing to try or not.

Ingredients

F.I.L. # B210673/1

The review

Both products work amazingly. It really was a surprise to find that they worked so well for me, a wonderful surprise I must say! I’ve been looking for some ‘easy’ skin care products that I can use whenever I don’t have that much time but that still do their job and don’t upset my sensitive skin. With these, I’ve found them where I least expected them. Let’s dive in each one of them!

Pure Clay Detox & Brighten Cleanser with Charcoal

I use this now everyday, mainly at nights after I’ve removed my makeup or in the shower. The consistency is really great, it has a deep grey color and a fragrance that is the same of the Pure Clay mask of the same color. It foams up really quickly and after you have used it you feel your skin clean and smooth, almost as the same feeling you get with micropeeling products.

I’ve really grown to love it just through the start of my first tube. The packaging also is great for taking it anywhere you plan to sleep, or to the gym, the sink or the shower. It does an amazing job at reducing redness, pimples and blackheads. My skin hasn’t look smoother in a long time, and I must say that it is thank to this little gem. I’m really really happy I found it.

Also, you new very little product for each ‘wash’ so it really lasts a long time. If your skin is sensitive but on the oily/combination/acne prone zone, you have to give this a try!

PURE CLAY PURE SUGAR L'ÓREAL DEATHLESSVOGUE

Pure Clay Detox & Brighten Cleanser with Charcoal L’ÓREAL

Pure Sugar Purify and Unclog Face Scrub with Kiwi

This face scrub is really special due to two things. First of all, it is really dense and rich, and as much as it exfoliates your skin perfectly well, it also leaves your skin nourished, smooth and full of life. And second of all, the smell. The smell is so good that when I couldn’t decide which one of the three Pure Sugar face scrubs I wanted to try, I just had to buy this one for he smell (and the kiwi seeds too, that really pleased me). Luckily I can say that I didn’t make a mistake!

The sugar in this makes a perfect exfoliation, not harsh at all, the sugar almost seems partially melted into a rich creamy honey texture that replenishes your skin with shine and vitality at the same time that it gets rid of dullness and dead cells. It is all in all a delight to apply and have on. What I usually do is apply in the shower and leave it on for a minute before scrubbing it all and then rinse it of. This way I think I can get better advantage of this nourishing quality of it.

If you are looking for a good face scrub that leaves your skin amazing and smelling divine, this is the Pure Sugar scrub for you!

Top 10 Mac Cosmetics Products for this Summer 2018

Summer is pretty much around the corner even though the weather keeps insisting in proving the opposite.

In no time we will be in a lounge at the beach with a glamorous cocktail in one hand watching the sun go down on our gorgeous tan, or under an umbrella freshly out of the ocean water enjoying the sunlight and the new bikini trends, or in a club at night ready to party in our most favorite dress and our ride waiting at the door. Or at least that’s what we wish for.

Anyhow, if you are either spending this summer in the city or the ocean, we all need that extra boost of glow that makes us feel that it’s summer wherever we are going or whatever we do.

MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUE

On the other hand, you know by now that I love MAC Cosmetics products, and when it comes to make you feel like a diva, this brand has always the last word. As every summer, they have also released a great limited edition collection called ‘Mirage Noir‘. I must say that since I assisted to that event when I was able to try it before it came out to the markets, I’ve fallen completely in love with it. But I will talk about that stunning collection in another article dedicated exclusive to it, so if you like Mirage Noir collection, stay tuned!

Going back to the need for a summer boost of glow and confidence and the basics of feeling a diva when the sun starts shinning, we all agree that that is a need with which we are familiar with, and that is the doom (and also the bless!) of every summer. We want to look fabulous but struggle to know how to achieve that ‘too glam to care’ vibe.

And for that special purpose, today I bring you a selection of 10 products from MAC that I choose specially with that idea in mind: what would you need this summer to glow day and night?

  1. MAC PREP + PRIME FIX+ (SHIMMER) IN ‘GOLDLITE’

MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUEThe first of all if that if you are ever in a hurry is making sure you are going to end up looking splendorous enough no matter how much time you put into the rest of your make up. There has to be that one magical product that ensures that you leave feeling and looking perfect and that the rest or makeup process and the whole day is a full success. For that, there’s nothing better than the new Fix Plus with shimmer that comes in two versions, Pinklite (with pink shimmer) and Goldlite (with gold shimmer).

Though I have the Pinklite one, I’ve tried both and for the purpose of this list, the Goldlite is this key product. The golden shimmer is perfect for summer and for giving you a fresh glow appearance in just a couple of spritzes. Also, it serves both as a primer for your make and as a fixer. It is just the wonder bottle. The Fix Plus has always been a top product but with this new twist, there’s no way you can resist the need to bathe yourself in this magical mist to glow and feel fresh all through the summer.

  2. MAC STROBE CREAM IN ‘PEACHLITE’

    MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUE

This moisturizer is a total must for this summer. While hydrating your skin, it gives an amazing glow and fresh look due to the pearly particles in it. Strobing in a bottle! This strobe cream comes in different tones but the Peachlite, with its pink peach pearly shade is the perfect one for this summer. The pink/peach tones boost the youth and freshness of every skintone, and the mix of silvery and golden undertones makes any skin seem full of light and life. The perfect highlighter and the perfect color correction for dull skins or for those who want to add a special ‘healthy glow’ finish to their skins.

Also, MAC has a body version of this strobing magic, that you can get and pair up with your favorite Strobe Cream and be the girl with the best looking tan in all the beach. Even if you are in the office.

  3. MAC EXTRA DIMENSION HIGHLIGHTER IN ‘SHOW GOLD’

MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUEWe all know that MAC highlighters are one of the best ones out there. Not only they highlight as if you were hit by the light of heavens, but it feel luxurious. The texture, the smell, the fine satin-like powder, the iridescence… The magic. They are the highlighter you need if you feel is lacking that extra glam that you need to accomplish everything in life.

This is one personal opinion, you have never felt as good with a highlighter on that with the ones from MAC. And now, leaving my obsessions aside, I can say this shade, which I own of course because it’s gorgeous, is the perfect match for the Peachlite Strobe Cream. This shade, ‘Show Gold‘, is a rose gold peachy color with heaps and heaps of warm and cold iridescent shimmer.

The consistency of this one is just perfect. So smooth you can hardly feel it’s a powder. A delight to be applied. And as we have said before, perfect, as the Peachlite Strobe Cream, for all skin tones to boost their natural glow and take it through the roof. What can be better for summer than ‘Show Gold‘?

    MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUE

  4. MAC PEARLMATTE FACE POWDER: MOTHER O’ PEARL

    MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUE
    The  jewel of the crown.
As you might know, MAC launches limited editions every summer, and let me say that  the collection of this year is plainly amazing. Since I was able to try the products before they went out in the market in an event at my MAC store, I have had the opportunity to know this collection in depth and I can just say that I’m in love. But we’ll see all that in the article about the collection.
The thing is, if MAC already has a collection for the summer, how could I not pick some of these products into my summer list.

This one here is simply the best product in the collection. It is gorgeously design, beside from the amazing duochromatic packaging all the products from the collection have, it smells pure and luxurious, and the shades just have me crazy. You can use these powder all over your face using all the shades to give you a special tan/fuchsia/illuminated instant good looking face. But you can also use it as a blush, a bronzer and a highlighter, choosing which shades of the pattern you want to take with your brush, either if you want to use them separately, all together or in combination, this face powder is just the best.

In addition, it gives a glorious pearly but matte finish, and only comes in this divine combination of perfectly chosen shades, called Mother O`Pearl.
I own this one too and I can only say that it’s sold out for a reason.

  5. M·A·C STUDIO FACE AND BODY FOUNDATION / MIRAGE NOIR IN ‘LIGHT PEARL’

    MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUE
If you are already familiar with the Face and Body Foundation form MAC, prepare  yourself for the summer twist in this one. In the Mirage Noir collection we can find two Face and Body shades that are specially formulated to bronze and shimmer our skin like we have just arrived to a party after a long day at the beach.

The pearly glow in this one is gorgeous and though there are only two shades, they are really translucent and blend perfectly with all the skin tones. If you are already in your most tan version, use the Medium Deep Pearl shade, but for every day use and to look perfectly sunny at all occasions, I recommend the Light Pearl one! If you have time and a MAC store where you live, go and swatch this because its bronzing magic is amazing.

    MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUE

  6. MAC LIPGLASS / MIRAGE NOIR IN ‘MIDNIGHT DIP’

    MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUE

The last product in this list from the Mirage Noir collection couldn’t be other than one of the luscious Lipglasses designed specially by MAC for this summer. This one here, ‘Midnight Dip‘, is the perfect combination of a gloss and a dark lip. The shimmery particles in it makes it a gorgeous color that can turn any look into a success in seconds. If you pair it with Treasure Beach (bright pink), as I did in one look for Instagram, the dimension you can achieve is simply stunning. This is by far my most favorite gloss of the summer and though I still don’t own it, it’s definitely on my wishlist.

This color is ten times more beautiful when you actually try it than here in the pictures, so as I usually recommend with everything, if you have a store anywhere near, go and try this because I couldn’t have fallen in love harder when I did.

    MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUE

  7. MAC IN EXTREME DIMENSION WATERPROOF MASCARA IN ‘DIMENSIONAL BLACK’

    MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUE

Because who doesn’t love a great waterproof mascara for the season of heat, pools and beach. MAC Extreme Dimension Waterproof mascara ensures that your glamorous looking lashes are going to stay volumized, lengthened, pitch black and in place all through your pool party, your day at the beach or your clubbing night.

A waterproof mascara is a must for every summer and this one will just exceed your expectations. Also, can we take a moment to appreciate the stunning packaging with the neon effect teal letters all over it?

Don’t leave anyone indifferent to your look and apply two coats of this mascara to have that killer queen gaze that make heads turn!

    MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUE

  8. MAC LIQUIDLAST LINER IN ‘WET ROAD’

    MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUE

Yes, an eyeliner seems to be always a must. But it’s summer and the party has started. Ditch your regular black eyeliner for when the holidays are over and head to this wonderful pearly silver shade of the MAC Liquidlast Liner, ‘Wet Road‘.

Get creative with it or just do your usual winged eyeliner, I assure you that with this awesome liner you won’t leave anyone indifferent.

Even if you wear it alone or you use it as the cherry on the top a dark glossy lips and full lashes look, this will make you look and feel as if you are ready to slay the night. Disco ball and everything.

    MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUE

  9. MAC GRAND ILLUSION LIQUID LIPCOLOUR IN ‘SPACE BUBBLE’
    MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUE

If you have already seen this line of lipcolours, you understand why it is in this list. The Grand Illusion lipcolours combine iridescence, a metallic finish and almost like a duochrome effect full of multidimensional shimmery particles that will take you out of space. This particular color, ‘Space Bubble‘ is a double deep reed bright pink  with golden shimmer gorgeousness potion that will be perfect for the days you want to be the center of attention.

The holographic effect in this one is amazing too, is its really comfortable to apply, hydrating, and as a plus it has a refreshing effect that will plump your lips to even further galaxies. If you like special effects lipcolours, you have to try this line! I have and I just can say that it’s twice as marvelous as you imagine it at the very least.
This close up doesn’t do justice to how stunning it is but if you search for swatches you’ll become a believer!

    MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUE

  10. MAC DAZZLEGLASS IN ‘DATE NIGHT’

    MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUE

Finally, this list couldn’t be completed without one of the Dazzleglasses. If you haven’t seen this everywhere you are the lucky person that lives in a cave or under a rock that I aspire to be. But MAC Dazzleglasses are really a thing. They took the concept of the lip gloss, made the Lipglasses, and now the next level are the stunning Dazzleglasses, a lip gloss infused with glitter, shimmer, and every kind of iridescence, pearly and holographic particles you can imagine.

Date Night‘ is a gorgeous color well, for date nights and for every night. The deep magenta shade in this pairs perfectly with the fuchsia concept of the Mirage Noir collection, or what is the same, the idea of MAC of this summer 2018. For me, I could hardly leave aside more than one or two Dazzleglasses since they all seem gorgeous to me, but this is clearly the most special for me. When deep and rich shades and amazing finishes are combined, I’m all in.

If I manage to get one of these, I’ll probably wear it every single night of the summer. Who needs spotlights when you can shine so bright on your own! Just look at that, isn’t that the prettiest thing you have ever seen?

    MAC COSMETICS DEATHLESSVOGUE

And that’s it! I hope you enjoy my selection and that you can get yourself one of these to make your summer as divine as you. Don’t forget to share your own MAC Cosmetics favorites for summer!
Lots of love!

Focallure 18 Eyeshadows Bright Lux Palette Review

You all know by now that I have a weakness for warm toned palettes.

If you remember my article about them, warm toned palettes are not only a trend that doesn’t seem to grow old since it boomed last year, but also a blessing for me, who already wore dark red lip liner as an eyeliner in high school (dark times, dark places). In that article I presented some of the most popular palettes that followed this trend in the moment and a general overview on my opinion on the trend.
Anyhow, warm palettes are a marvelous gift from the heavens and today I bring to you the review of one of the most exquisite ones I have tried. I’m talking about the Focallure 18 Shades Full Function Palette, in the shade Bright Lux.
First of all here you can see some of the pictures from the company.

Does the shade selection looks familiar?

That’s probably is because it’s the most magnificent dupe (probably the best dupe of anything I’ve found in my whole life) of the famous Rose Gold palette from Huda Beauty.

eyeshadow_palette_1024x1024

What do I mean with a dupe?
I mean that the the quality of the Focallure palette is so fantastically amazing and I’m so impressed with it that I am actually quite shocked that it is so stunningly similar in quality. But let’s take things slowly and begin this review!

The Company

About a month ago I discover a fantastic online shop called Womental. I had been seeing their products over Instagram and I decided to take a look at their web.
In the makeup section the sell mainly Focallure products, of which I have never heard before this. The Bright Lux palette’s shades were too beautiful for me to resist it and after searching for some reviews online (all good, truth be told) I decided to get that one. They also have a Neutrals one version, that seemed more practical for everyday looks, but if you follow me on Instagram you know that I’m not that much intro practicality and that I can’t help falling in love with everything that shines, sparkles or has glitter. And also holographic stuff but that’s a subject for another day.

Returning to the palette,  after a lot of debate and scrolling up and down the site, I set my mind on that one and hoped for the results to be as good as they seemed on the internet. Obviously, I had my doubts, but this was probably the time that I learned to be open minded about makeup.

The brand

While my package was on its way, I did a bit of research about Focallure. They are a cruelty free brand (GOOD) that apparently is only available online through their own website or through resellers, and that specializes in makeup and beauty. They have a hue variety of products at amazing prices, and the fact that they sell to resellers too really pleases me, since they help and support growing business like the wonderful website where I discovered this brand, Womental. More point to them for that.

The package

The time passed and my very excitedly expected packaged finally arrived. First of all I must say a really big thank you to Womental. What was my surprise when I opened it that not only my palette was there in a perfect state (and it arrived pretty quickly from far far away, I must say) but also three lip products that were a complete bliss and that were sent as a gift.

"<yoastmark

Womental can have their five golden stars for this amazing service and customer care!

The palette

"<yoastmark

Now to the core of the question. The Focallure palette was in my hands and all I had to do was open it and swatch it and the truth will be revealed. I did. And guess what?

It was as amazing as the one from Huda. No, I’m not kidding. This is some serious business. Really serious.

Even if you are not searching for a Huda Rose Gold dupe but just for an amazingly pigmented and beautiful warm toned palette that can battle Modern Renaissance and win, this is the palette for you.

"<yoastmark

"<yoastmark

Concerning the packaging, I loved the overall feeling of it. The Focallure palette looks luxurious but elegant, shiny black with the right dosage of gold/rose gold details and a magnetic lock. Just perfect.

The shadows

"<yoastmark

"<yoastmark

"<yoastmark

"<yoastmark

There are seven foiled shadows, one shimmery shadow and ten matte shadows. I first swatched the foiled ones (obviously) and I was so so surprised. The pigmentation is like one I’ve never seen before. You can swatch them with your fingers and then swatch them in your arms and they’ll still look as if you had put eyeshadow primer under them. Perfect. Just perfect. The colors were perfect too.

"<yoastmark

"<yoastmark

At first I thought that the matte ones weren’t as pigmented but this was only that it took more than one finger swatch to get the surface of the shadow out of their ‘baked’ state. After this, oh my, the pigmentation on those too. The reds, pinks and burgundies look so so beautiful on the eyes. Just wait and see.

For the shimmery white shadow, the same thing happened as with the matte ones.

So, all of them were the perfect quality. And I’m saying perfect, which is not something I say that easily. The shadows are as I’ve said amazingly pigmented, the texture is buttery just to the right amount and they are still so easy to work with and blend. They are also long lasting and water resistant. You will need a good set of brushes for this palette because well, it is what you call a professional palette. No kidding.

Here you have a bonus video if you want to see that shimmering action!

As soon as I ended the swatching phase, I went straight to creating some looks to see how the Focallure eyeshadows worked on the eyes and with actual brushes. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves!

This look was a more or bright look where I gave a try at the cut creased trend. I mainly used Wine, Terracota, Toffee, Indian Red as a transition color and Moonlight and Garnet to highlight the lid, the corner of the eye and the browbone. Also I used extra Toffe and some Carbon on the outer corner of the eye to polish it up! I used a little of Lash Paradise mascara from L’Óreal and that’s it!

✨Night Lux✨ . And here’s the other look I made with the #focallure palette from @womental! . The colors are really similar but this is more of like a bold version, there’s more contrast and the brow bone isn’t highlighted. I also add some glitter and eyeliner and blended the cut crease so it will be more subtle! . In this one I tried to give a date nigh twist on the first look. It is more dark since it has more of the Wine color the outer color is a lighter mix of this one and Toffee. The cut crease is blended with someof this too, and the color Terracota goes up to the brow without highlighting. For the inner corner, I used Garnet, Moonlight, Bisque and some Wet n Wild Color Icon glitter in the shade ‘Bleached’. This time, I added a winged eyeliner with Catrice Eye Liner Pen in waterproof black and again the Lash Paradise mascara from L’Óreal.

I know that both of the looks are really similar regarding the color choice but that was totally my fault. It was my first ever warm palette and I wanted to play with those reds and pinks like crazy. Also, I must say that it was my first time trying a cut crease and I always thought the best colors for that technique are burgundies.

This palette is really versatile and in the next round I take at it I’ll sure be looking to create something quite different with the more gold/brown/orange section of the palette.
If you want to see how those turn out, stay tuned!

Conclusion

I just want to thank Womental for their fantastic service, their kindness and for introducing me to such an amazing makeup brand. I couldn’t be happier with this, and though this is mainly a review of the palette, I must say that the lip products they sent me were fantastic too (and smelled divine), so you will probably see a review about those around here soon, as well as some pictures in my Instagram (which I already took!).
You have to check out their shop, they also sell accessories, hair items, jewelry and what not!

This has been a very positive experience and I encourage you all to go out there and try and search and to look always beyond.

And of course I recommend this palette to all of you who can’t afford Anastasia Beverly Hills or Huda Beauty and still want to feel like a Hollywood starlet, because you deserve it!

I really hope you enjoyed this and lots of love!

Met Gala 2018 Heavenly Bodies: Top Looks of the Night

Met Gala 2018

Last night we could attend to the biggest night of the year for the fashion industry: the Met Gala.

The theme of this year was ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination’, so we knew beforehand that it was going to be a night to be remembered. Fashion designers and celebrities sometimes spend weeks or even months designing and preparing their creations for the red carpet of this famous night, and having that theme in mind, we knew that the looks were going to be resounding.

There were sure some Lady Gaga moments, though they were sadly not starred by herself since she didn’t attend, like the Pope inspired dress and headpiece that Rihanna wore, but for me there were also some seriously stylish and beautiful looks that deserved some attention.

Some of my favorite designers worked in the dresses that paraded the red carpet last night and I’m here to share with you the most iconic looks of the night!

Though there were some that practically broke the internet as they made their appearance, there were also that, leaving the hype aside, spoke loudly of the true love for fashion. Let’s see them.

And that’s all for now!
Obviously, since Donatella was one of the hosts, Versace was a house that shone brightly all through the night and that dressed a high number of the attendants. And they did that masterfully!

Some of the most resonated looks didn’t quite hit the mark for me, but others, like this last one from Versace for Gigi Hadid, the one from Dior that Cara Delevigne wore, or the Joan of Arc inspired design from Versace that Zendaya rocked, were for me truly beautiful and spoke really highly of the houses that confectionated them.

Also a great respect for Kim Kardashian for choosing a design of Gianni Versace!
If you want to read about (and watch!) the Tribute collection Donatella made to her brother Gianni in last fall’s Milan Fashion Week, check this article.

I hope you have time to take a look at the Met Gala 2018 designs and make your own selection of your favorite looks.

Lots of love, and hoping to see you around soon!

Versace Tribute Collection: Spring Ready-To-Wear 2018

An article about the Tribute collection from Versace on last fall’s Fashion week has been on my drafts since September. Now that I’m watching the American Crime Story season about the assassination of Gianni Versace, this has all come back to me along with a huge intensification of my crush on Versace.

Writing about collections has been a recurring idea on my mind since I wrote the article about the Balmain Ready To Wear Fall 2018 collection and fashion show. I just love watching the shows and understanding the collections as the work of art they are, and this one from Versace specially honors that idea.

24a575534a2e7145308a92fea23e2011

Let’s talk a bit about the tribute collection and the brand first.

The tribute

Gianni Versace last collection was presented on July 1997, just before his murder. After that, the management of the company passed along to their siblings, the famous icon Donatella and his brother Santo. Though actually the half of the company was inherited according to his will by his niece Allegra Beck, Donatella’s daughter, she has never been really fond of being associated with the place that Versace occupies among the greatest fashion houses of all time.

On last fall’s Fashion Week at Milan, Versace presented a tribute collection that Donatella specially meant to honor his brother on the 20th anniversary of his passing away.

When I saw the collection, I was in one word, astounded. At the moment I didn’t know how much it was actually a deeply inspired in Gianni’s vision and designs, but after researching a bit I was amazed beyond words. You know that I have a thing for the 90s, 80s, 70s and probably every decade that I didn’t get the chance to live in. But the love and the dedication with which this collection honored those times and the concept of fashion that was held then, is one that I truly never saw before.

The vision

Gianni Versace’s vision of clothes was that they had to make the person who was wearing them feel happy. Fashion was his passion and he designed every item with a love and dedication that reflected his tender craftsman heart. He started out with a little boutique and he grew his company from scratch, basing everything in this idea he had that women were goddesses and their looks should reflect that nature to make them justice because they were born to shine. The first time he designed a dress, it was for his sister Donatella, who he loved with all his heart, and on one occasion he said that probably he still designed every item with her in his mind. Family was the most important thing for him, and his love for fashion came probably since he was born from his mother Francesca, who owned a tiny workshop where her son help her sew and sketch patterns.

Versace was not only a man, but a family of traditions and love, which now makes perfect sense with the will of Donatella of honoring his lost brother now, twenty years after. The man who was vogue.

Versace Tribute Collection SS 2018

Let’s dive deep into this collection now, one of my favorites of the last year, and certainly the most touching and were I can see more passion. Donatella has consecrated herself as one of the greatest here, in the fashion history and in my heart as well.

Fashion is about love, that was his brother’s vision, and that she channeled in an impeccable way.

The show

If you haven’t watched this show, I’m not recommending it to you, I’m saying you MUST watch it right now if you love fashion and you consider it an art. Furthermore, if you consider that life and love is a thing to be celebrated, this show is something that won’t leave you indifferent even if you don’t like this house style.

Just dim the lights, grab your headphones, set the video to 1080p and get ready for the greatest tribute ever made to a fashion designer, to a creator, and an artist.

What can I say after that.
You have heard her talked about him and you have seen the mastery with which she captured a whole era and a soul in a collection. His passion, his vision, her love for him, the love of the world for him, his place in history, his role in fashion, his muses, the woman. His spirit. Everything was there. She made history.

Hats off.

The looks

Now let’s see some of my favorite looks, ones that will stay in my heart forever and that in my opinion, will last forever in fashion history.

And these two, which are the best looks in my opinion and that were both worn by Grace Hartzel:

_VER0129_VER0785

The inspiration

Finally, the greatest part of this tribute collection: the way it honored the past. Let’s see how Gianni’s designs inspired many of the looks in this collection, and let’s just be amazed at the love with which this was made. Tribute is a word that came alive with this collection.

Stars Attend Gianni Versace Fashion ShowIMG_5460IMG_5459IMG_5458IMG_5457IMG_5456IMG_5455IMG_5454IMG_5452IMG_5451IMG_5449IMG_5448IMG_5447b6d606e104c6a2da8b030d3aa4894a6f9b120a12d43058c0adc8715347ede8f63e1dc5bd0a3dc9f06178e8599495e673

And this is all for today!

I hope you loved this collection as much as me.

I will probably be writing about other one soon so tell me if you like the idea!
Lots of love.

MOSCHINO x H&M Collaboration: Exclusive! 8 Nov 2018

Is your dream to add some Moschino to your closet but the price is out of your budget? Fear not! In the last hour we have known which is the next collaboration of H&M – and that’s right, Jeremy Scott is here to the rescue!
MOSCHINO x H&M

H&M Collaborations

H&M collaborations have brought to us great designers and brands to a more economic environment.

I must say this is one of my favorite to-go brands, it always has edgy designs, cool T-Shirt and trendy outfits in every style you can imagine, besides from the great range of make-up and accessories. I would be lying if I didn’t say that most of my non-expensive part of my wardrobe is H&M. Another great thing (for me) about them and that is the main reason I love them is that they always has a great supply of metallic, sequins and holographic  items, which for me (yes I’m that 80s disco slave) is the base of any happy fashionista.

Going back to the collaborations, I can recall some of my most favorite ones, though most of them happened when I still didn’t have the fashion fever! Here are some of them:

MOSCHINO

The high luxury fashion house was founded in 1983 by Franco Moschino, and has set itself aside since then with its characteristic use of leather accessories and shoes. From the beginning, Franco Moschino and his brand became famous for its innovative, eccentric and colorful designs (of which I must say I’m a real fan!). He was also known for his criticism about the fashion industry, his social awareness campaigns and his love for fairies!

The current art director of Moschino, the wonderful Jeremy Scott, has already dazzled us this year with his impressive collaboration with MAC Cosmetics. If you didn’t get to take a look at this collection, check it out now!

From this amazing creations by Jeremy Scott and one of my favorite makeup brands, all I have for the collaboration with H&M is excitement and impatience! I just can’t wait for it to be launched.

Also here you have the Spring Summer 2018 collection Jeremy Scott presented for Moschino in the Milan Fashion Week if you want to peek at what may be coming!

Immerse yourself in this wonderful fashion show!

I must say I totally love that collection, very Madonna in the 80s and 90s inspired but with a millennial ‘wow’ twist. It is definitely a collection I could write a whole article about, if you want me to just let me know!

The collaboration was announced today and the date set for it is 8 Nov. 2018.
Mark it in your calendar if you don’t want to lose this opportunity to grab a piece of the Moschino magic for prices that will be ranging between 25$ and 300$.

For all my fashionistas, see you in November!

Luminance Routine: A Spring Rebirth for your Skin!

Now that spring is here and everything is about light and nature, I always find it time to renew our skin care routine and give our skin a proper rebirth!

As we talked about in the last article, the glow is the trend for 2018. If you want to achieve it from within instead of faking it with make-up, keep reading!

Usually for me, spring is time to clear up the skin tone and bring brightness to our faces. The winter is finally out, flowers start blooming and sun starts shining. Summer is on the horizon and everything is about living and shining. Normally skin problems can cause dull skin and uneven skin tone, specially if you have a skin that tends to scar or redden easily after breakouts or your skin is dull and tired. Skin can be stressed too by factors like pollution, sleep and real stresses, that reflect on our skin giving it a general ‘worn’ appearance that takes away our natural glow.

There are lots of skin care products out there specifically formules to get rid of imperfections and uneven skin tone and that promise a brighter and younger look.

Today I’ve decides to share with you my particular selection of them: the ones I’ve incorporated to my skin care routine!

Luminance

I concentrate all my efforts into an anti-spot routine that works both on preventing and treating dark areas or scars on my skin as well as a moisturizing and renewing it deeply. I generally combine the action of scrubs and deep daily cleansers with lightening treatments and a good SPF cream. I’m always drawn to those type of cosmetics, but this spring my routine is one that deserves to be shared. I’ve curated some of the products after years of testing and loving them and others are just recent purchases that I totally fell in love with.

All in all, if you need inspiration to find your perfect radiant glow routine, here you have my favorites for this purpose!

The Routine

1522669083638

Luminance routine on my Instagram @deathlessvogue

•Rare earth deep pore daily cleanser from Kiehl’s.

First I start my routine with this awesome cleanser. This is a re purchase so I could say it falls under the category of favorite. I hardly ever repeat with a cleanser, except the ones from Lush, but that’s another topic! It really gently but deeply exfoliates and leaves your skin ready to take in any treatment and absorb its properties and benefits to the fullest.

It contains different types of clay that help your skin clear out and stay balanced and looking rested and full of energy. You can feel your skin breathing and it leaves you with a matte but not flat finish that have you feeling fresh and awaken. I use this at least once a day, sometimes both in my morning and night routine. If you want my opinion, it’s perfect for the shower!

•Concentrated brightening essence from Caudalie.

This is a recent discovery and I can’t be more in love with it! It is a brightening essence that you can use after the cleansing step and before your creams. Think of it as a tonic meets serum product. Its texture is just like water and it feels amazing on the skin. It helps reducing spots, marks and dullness, bringing a new appearance to your skin, boosting the radiance effect of the rest of your routine! It also evens out the skin tone and promotes a healthy glow.

This is the first product from Caudalie that I incorporate to my routine but I have tried others and they are definitely a recommendation. They work perfectly and are full of natural ingredients, and they also have amazingly specific products for almost every need. If you are looking for an organic, efficient and sofisticated brand, give this one a try!

I usually apply this with my fingers to all of my face after the cleanser and then wait a bit for it to dry.

•Breakout control blemish treatment facial lotion from Kiehl’s.

This is also a great new discovery. It was actually a recommendation I got at Kiehl’s for my specific skin type. I don’t have a lot of breakouts right now but I have had problems with acne during my high school years and my skin always tend to go back to that kind of problems when it’s stressed. Also I have very delicate and somewhat sensitive skin and I still have some marks (but not scars) of these past problems.

This Kiehl’s product is wonderful since it works in both the blemishes and the skin tone. It reduces the appearance of the marks and also prevents your skin from breaking out more. I’ve been using this for two weeks now and I must say it works as it promises!

I recommend to use it at night because of its peeling power (it has salicylic acid on it), which can leave your skin more unprotected and sun can be a bit damaging, like with all lightening or renewing treatments. In fact it is a night treatment! You should wear sun protection anyway on the mornings to make sure no harm is done to your skin! This brings us to the last product of the routine.

•Ultra light daily UV defense from Kiehl’s.

A good old favorite had to be added to this routine! The protection in this sun screen is as high as you can get and a little bit goes a long way.

I highly highly recommend using sun screen everyday, even in winter, since most of the skin problems you can get with age (dark spots, wrinkles, dull skin tone, tired appearance) are due to sun exposure, beside obviously some serious skin diseases, so you can never wear enough sunscreen.

I have a wide range of sun screens that I like to combine to achieve the desired finish and protection, for example you can use a matte finish cream with some color if you want to go for an everyday sunscreen or if you don’t want to wear make-up that day. If you are going to put on make-up anyhow, or if you don’t care about looking natural, you can use some powerful traditional sunscreen like that one from Kiehl’s!

So this is it!
I hope you have been able to find inspiration to start spring with a new skin care routine that brings out the best of your skin.
What is your spring skin care routine? Any skin goals for the summer?

Have a wonderful Friday and stay tuned for more!

Balmain Ready To Wear Fall 2018 Collection

Balmain: the new king of the Paris Fashion Week. This fall be ready to fall under the disco spell that Olivier Rousteing has casted upon the fashion industry.

_AG31066

Today we’ll see of one of the collections that has made me fall in love the hardest these last Fashion Weeks since that Marc Jacobs collection that I still dream of. I’m talking about the dazzling, the wonderful, the absolutely stunning Balmain Fall Ready To Wear 2018 collection.

The Show

Olivier Rousteing, currently the creative designer of this fashion house, left us all astounded when he presented his collection in the last Paris Fashion Week. First of all, I leave you here the full show if you still haven’t seen it!

The Idea

Some people has talk about futuristic inspiration in this collection. I personally can’t help think of the 70s and the 80s. It’s true, and more and more people can’t deny me this, disco is coming back.

I’m talking about fashion, make-up, music, just everything in the industry is retrieving (wisely) that dazzling vibe that has the power to catch our eye and our heart in way that only a disco ball can! The collection is also elegant.

Beside the silvery holographic siren soldiers, we can also see some nude and black designs that speak of silent glam and Marcel Duchamp, some Pop Art inspired creations and a lot of Yves Klein blue. Art is very present on this collection, and the fact that disco is treated as one more art (maybe the art of the 20s?) pleases me beyond what I can express with words. Arts and the disco era speak to me on so many levels that the idea of this fashion trend coming back with so many artistic references is just a dream come true.

The music

The music at the show just confirms all this with a radiant combination of disco classics remixes, like for example Yazoo’s “Don’t Go,” A-ha’s “Take On Me,” and Kim Wilde’s “You Keep Me Hangin’ On”. And also the inmortal ‘Heart of Glass’ from Blondie in a version that seems out of a Baz Luhrmann movie and that will take your own heart. It was simply a beautiful show that simply can’t be described with enough justice.

The show can even be used as a playlist for totally glamorous inspiration and productivity. This is no lie, some friends of mine has actually done this and, no doubt, I’m hearing it right now as I write. I totally encourage you to do the same!

The looks

The Balmain collection had 92 amazing designs. For what I’ve understood from the collection, I can group the looks in four main categories:

Holographs and Sequins

Most of the looks had this disco glam feel that was the one that made me fall in love.

We can see lots of metallics, shiny fabrics, holographic sequins and translucent special effects. Silver and the holographic finish are the ones that most clearly rule these looks, though we can also find some sequins in black. One of the things that amazed me the more was some black creations with an holographic finish that I still don’t understand how it was achieved. Marvelous!

The textures combinations were infinite, the designs amazing and the colors didn’t need more than those jewels that are silver, black, holographic finishes and sequins of all sizes.

Particularly beautiful were the designs that only included black fabrics and sequins.

Nudes and Duchamp

Seeing the nude and black designs from Balmain, and seeing the artistic references that I could get from the other designs, I couldn’t help but think of Duchamp’s famous painting “Nude descending a staircase”.

Duchamp_-_Nude_Descending_a_Staircase

These looks were one of the most elegant of the collections, highly combinable with almost any kind of accessory.

Yves Klein’s blue

1503624525_601062_1503625827_noticia_normal_recorte1

Yves Klein was a french artist of the 50s and 60s identified with the neodadaist movement. He was so keen on one particular blue hue that he had a paint specifically design for him, with which he painted almost all of his works. He is also seen as an inspiration and forerunner for pop art (which is also later included in the show!) and minimalistic art.

In the collection we can see some designs with the emblematic Yves Klein blue.

Pop Art and Bright Colors

The last previous category bring us directly into the Pop Art inspiration for a lot of the designs. Using Yves Klein blue as a leif motiv, the house brought us a combination of pop art shapes and colors (main primary ones, cyan, yellow and magenta), some metallic or holographic finishes and some black ink. These designs were astounding, particularly the dresses that resembled neon designs.

All of them were really expressionist and remind me of artists like Miró or Warhol but with a much interesting twist if I have to be honest, because those artist have never been of my favorites.

Apart from these categories, there were also some sequined T-shirts, some denim blue designs that reminded even more of the 80s and some holographic nude-almost-white design, but I think those four categories summarize pretty well the collection and its inspirations.

The make-up

The make-up chosen for the show was really simple. I was based on a perfect natural looking skin, enhanced subtly with make-up products like nude foundations, concealer, mascara, blushes and highlighters. The look was a no-make-up make-up look and it was achieved perfectly.

The inspiration was clearly the glow of a naturally healthy looking skin, with no imperfections, an even tone and a natural light coming through it. I think the election of the make-up look for the models was perfect because this way it let the designs shine without drawing any attention to the make-up. The hair styles were also polished but naturals, mainly long manes with part sides, but also some fringes and short hair, but generally no up-dos at all.

If you still haven’t read the article about the glow trend and you like this look, go check it out!

Details

Here you have a selection of the details from the show and designs that I found most dazzling!

I must say I’m really grateful to the fashion world for this collection, I enjoy one that makes me fall in love as much as one of those movies that touches your heart in every way and that you only get the luck to find once every few years.
All in all, thank you Balmain, thank you Olivier Rusteing for restoring my faith in the industry and for giving us the gift of fashion in it maximum expression as an art.  And also for reassuring me in my theory that disco is coming back!

I have no words to describe how much I love this. I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I do.

Glow: The 2018 Trend

el_truco_para_conseguir_el_glow_de_2018_981_620x

This 2018 the glow trend is not going to allow to be moved from its throne. One more year, we find that a luminous, dewy and youthful skin with touches of strobing is still the most wanted look, in and out of red carpets and runways. It’s that shine that lets light come through your skin and that totally gives you that ‘healthy glow’ ‘I don’t need make-up’ effect.

What is the glow?

First, it came the contouring, enhancing your features by using make-up products to strategically darken your face in the areas that suit your bone structure better to achieve a more sophisticated look. Then, it came the strobing, where you did the exact opposite thing: highlight your face in the areas where light would naturally hit your features to make them look more defined, giving your whole look an ethereal, fairy-like appearence that boosted your face structure in a much more dreamy, elegant way than contouring.

FByvyCf

Now, the glow has taken it to the next level. Instead of taking care of just some areas of your features, its purpose is to give your whole face a radiant look, mixing make-up products with efficient cosmetics to make your skin shine like it was naturally that luminous. The result is a dewy finish that gives the impression that you don’t need to wear, and even that you are in fact not wearing, any make-up. The skin looks healthy, shining, enhaced and ready to bite!

How to achieve it?

Make-up brands and cosmetic houses are starting to launch specific products that are formulated to give you this glow look, but you can also use a few tips and tricks to achieve it without having to buy any of these (or to see if you like how it looks on you before buying them!). You can use other products that you already have in your make-up stash, pay attention!

  • Applying foundation with some liquid highlighter: Liquid options of luminizers like L’Oreal Liquid Highlighter can be mixed with your foundation to give to your complexion that extra glowy look. If your foundation alone seem a bit dull, don’t hesitate to mix it with a drop or two of your favorite liquid highlighter. Mix it well before applying it to your face (I recommend using a sponge or a beauty blender). Also, you can apply these drops directly to your face in specific points and then proceed to blend it all out while you apply your foundation. Girl meets Pearl from Benefit work wonders too with this method!

  • Mixing your favorite BB cream with some moisturizer: If you already have a naturally dewy skin, why cover it up? Most of the time our skin looks healthier without make-up than with a full face of foundation and powder. This effect can look cakey and make you look older, so if you only want to boost your skin tone a little bit, mix your favorite BB cream with a moisturizer or primer that promotes healthy looking skin and you are good to go! You can always top it up with a little highlighter if you want that extra sparkle on your look.

  • Using just primer and cream highlighter: If you already have a primer that makes your skin look superb, don’t lose this effect under layers of make-up. When using very few products on your face I always recommend using liquid or cream form highlighter, since I think that the powder one looks best on top of a full face of make-up while it can look a little ‘fake’ and ‘overdone’ on a natural looking skin. After your moisturizer, just prime your face (use one that reduces pores or redness and you’ll be looking fabulous) and then highlight your features with some cream highlighter. Blend it well with your fingers and work it onto the primer to make it look like the shine comes right through your skin.

  • Mixing your moisturizer with liquid highlighter: As you can see it’s all about the mixing. Liquid highlighter is as versatile as that. If your moisturizer is one that leaves your skin so healthy looking that you don’t need make-up at all, mix it with some liquid highlighter and apply it as you normally would. The glow is guaranteed, just don’t exceed yourself with adding the highlighter! If you want to perk it up a little you can add some more highlighter to strategic points of your face and use some concealer to cover your dark circles. You’ll never look as youthful and natural!

Specific Products

If you have tried the trend and you’ve fallen in love, here you have some products specifically designed to achieve it:

  • Extra Glow Skincare Palette from Bobbi Brown
  • S.O.S Primer Booste l’éclat from Clarins
  • Météorites Heart Shape from Guerlain
  • Strobe Cream from M.A.C.
  • Wash+Glow Cleanser from NIA

The Extra Tip

Always remember to use sunscreen, that protects your skin from getting wrinkles and dark spots sooner than you should (and obviously protects you against some serious skin problems). The key to this look is health and youth so search for a good sunscreen and start applying it every day if you are not already doing it. Yes, every day! Also, if your BB cream or usual moisturizer already has sunscreen on it, congratulations, you hit jackpot.

So this is it, I really hope you enjoyed this and you try the methods I shared if you like the ‘glow’ look! Do you think this is a trend that will last?

The Blonde Issue

This post was originally thought for the beginning of the summer when the bleaching madness started but I’ve been so disconnected that it never got to see the light. They say it’s better late than never so here you have it!

Also this is kind of a different post (more of a personal/ranting approach), just in case!

With the summer I start to overthink again about getting a box of hair dye in the nearer  shop and give the lightening process a try… one more time.

This made me thinking, is bleached blonde a thing that you have to do earlier or later in your life?

A good platinum blonde shade not only gives you the most polished look you can ever imagine but a certain iconic image we always have wanted to recreate. The term ‘blonde bombshell’ is so deep inside our minds and society: a platinum blonde mane means elegance, style, luxury, but also glamour and rock and roll. Is as versatile as a good hair color can be.

The key to this look is keeping a perfect face, even if it is just basic make-up or a BB cream, this style surely gets its best when paired with some bold eyes or lips. Black and red are is allies, and you can play all around with the rest of the colors depending on if you want a grunge look, a vintage glamorous one or a runway one. It can be played all the ways you want it to!

Blonde hair has the power to make you completely addicted to it. Even when you have swore that you’ll never destroy your hair that much again in your life, one day you realize that you are buying a box of bleach or a highlights kit or a progressive lightening spray and then the dream (nightmare) starts again. Opposite of what most people may think, hair is really delicate and too much lightening can cause serious damage to it.

And then of course, there’s also your worst enemy if you are blonde: brassiness.

There you have one if the main reasons that make people, and also myself, quit trying to achieve the perfect blonde. Also don’t forget its side kick, green hair, which can appear after too much processing and dying and toning trying to get rid of the orange tones. Too much ashy tones mixed up with bleached hair can cause some green hues in your hair, which in my experience never get out unless you cut it. All in all, bleach blonde is as suitable as difficult to achieve, specially if you are one of those people that have to do everything themselves (like me). Then this might be your pending subject for a long time!

Palette Trend: Warm-Eyed Craze

This is another post about this palette trend that I had ready before the summer and that I wanted to post before I started the new year! I also updated it a bit so I could include some recent discoveries, enjoy!

9c9931f667394d61b7626adb7afe4b5e

Kaia Gerber wearing Scandalust palette for Marc Jacobs Beauty.

The Trend

Warm toned eye looks are a big thing right now.

Personally this make-up trend is one of the most flattering in the last times. Specially suitable for brown eyes and autumn colors hair, it can actually fit any eye color or complexion. The beauty of this look is that, even when it’s perfectly worked and detailed to any glamour level you want, it still looks kind of natural. Earthy tones speak to us about falling leaves, deep forests, fireplaces and candles. Even with bright hues or the use of glitter, these tones guarantee you a soft appearance, warm and magical, ethereal like the evening sunlight.

The thing is, actual autumn is just around the corner and this trend seem to be preparing its greatest act. Pretty much every cosmetic line has been launching their own version of the ‘perfect warm tones palette’ for the past months. Let’s say for example Lime Crime, Anastasia, and most recently even Urban Decay jumped on the bandwagon with their Naked Heat palette. So, if autumn is always a season for earthy tones, this year is going to be as big as it can get.

Venus II by Lime Crime and Modern Renaissance by Anastasia Beverly Hills.

The Colors

What colors do these palette actually contain? The most popular options are oranges, deep burgundy reds, soft browns and sparkly peachy tones. The selection allows you to create for the most simple and subtle/shy looks to the most glamorous one using glitter and a perfectly defined and sharp black eyeliner. These hues are also very favorable to recreate the trendy halo eyes look that has been going around so much lately. For me, all these colors give away a sensation of a naturally edgy-grunge-couldn’t care less look, along with some innocent and even fairy-like look.

Naked Heat by Urban Decay and Matte Palette by Zoeva.

The Possibilities

From my point of view, the perfect choices to complete this look is a warm toned hair color like a gingery red, a chocolate brown, a strawberry blonde – all in all anything with a warm under tone (imagine the colors of autumn leaves!), and some fake freckles if you don’t already sport some real ones! Some of us are not that lucky.

You can achieve these in multiple ways and if you have doubts you sure can search for a thousand tutorials, but my favorite techniques, and the ones that I think that are the easiest are these. Use a brown mascara that goes well with your complexion and use the brush lightly (or other brush you may wish) to create natural and uneven looking freckles, or if you want to have more control over the size and distribution of the freckles, use a matte long lasting eyeliner pencil or gel. Marc Jacobs Beauty used this last technique on Selena Gomez for her latest video, Fetish. Remember to pair all this with a flawless complexion that doesn’t look to heavy, go for a good coverage but of a dewy/natural finish. You even may be good to go with some concealer and mattifying powder.

If you are willing to try this trend, you can start practicing this look all through the summer, starting with softer and simpler look, just combining a few shadows to enhance your bronzed beach style.

Marc Jacobs SS17 Ready-To-Wear Collection

Now that the New York Fashion Week is coming again, I thought it was time to revise one of my favorite collections from the autumn/winter one last September, the Marc Jacobs SS17 collection. Not only it was a proper time to do this kind of revival because of the upcoming event, but also because the season for which it was intended is practically here!

It’s time to start thinking about spring and the styles and trend that are going to rule over the rest. We have had since autumn to think about all the designers proposals and the hour of truth has arrived. Were they right?

The Marc Jacobs collection had inimitable unique style – textures, colors, and a deeply dreamy neon 90s vibe. If this designer is and always will be one of my favorites if not the most, is because he always seem unable to get enough of the grunge era. Not only in its dark side but also in its disco/glam version. Who doesn’t love his MTV deep magenta sweatshirt? As a 90s lover myself, Marc Jacobs never lets me down.

But back to the SS17 collection, why was it so special? Which were the main proposals for the season? If you ask me, if I had to choose a material to summarize the concept, it will definitely be holographic pastel snake skin. Too intrincate? Not at all if you know Jacobs. Imagine a ‘heroin chic meets gothic lolita’ collection. And now see it!

Other clear influence is the Japanese vibe added by the ‘gothic lolita’ side of the collection. The inspiration doesn’t stop there and it goes further and further with beautiful embroideries, silky finishes and pop art details. Kawaii!

I’ve selected only a few of my favorite looks from the runway, but they are surely enough to illustrate the idea. The color palette is delicate and bold at the same time, deep colors are left aside to let the textures shine. Details and accessories are a must and platforms shoes are not an option but a basic! The overall look is powdered but dazzling, something that looks innocent enough to fit the youth but also powerful. This collection states ‘Young doesn’t mean naive’. Hail the holographic baroque.

The basis are clear. An eclectic mix of textures, fabrics and finishes. Velvet, silk, denim, camouflage, wool, cotton, knitwear, sequins, animal print, glitter, jewels, metallic details, ribbons, patches, pastels, leather and platforms.

It looks that it anticipated the season perfectly. It follows the line that has so deeply marked the autumn/winter season but with a dash of daylight, different finishes and fabrics give the collection a multidimensional quality that doesn’t leave anyone indifferent. Stockings are the primordial accessory and oversized jackets, full of patches and mixtures of details add deep contrast to the looks.

Another really important point of this whole collection was the show itself, being the stage one of the most beautiful and charming displays of creativity and passion that I’ve ever seen on a runway!

Elvive Low Shampoo Analyzed

Elvive Low Shampoo has arrived in the best moment for our hair!

With the holidays so near our manes have to face the damage of the brushing and the heat of party season. The hottest way to protect it are the new washing creams, the new hair trend that you need to try.

picture_client_format_5_96b305

Low shampoos are a softer, and more respectful with our hair, alternative to traditional shampoos. With their base without sulfates, they cleanse without drying, and their cream properties with oils strengthen and nourish our tresses. Their moisturizing power is great and they are meant for dry and damaged hair.

Idea

Sulfates are a chemicals generally added to cleansing products to maximize their power. In many cases this is a blessing since we can take advantage of this but in others it can be a little too harsh. Fragile hair, which need a rest after being periodically exposed to dyes and heat or that is naturally prone to this, may need something gentler than a shampoo with sulfates. After all, you can also find them in washing liquid, which may be a little discouraging to people who already fear for the well being of their tresses.

Collection

Elvive has launched three different low shampoos is this line to meet with every girl needs.

Dry: Elvive Extraordinary Oil Low Shampoo

For manes on the edge! Rocking pastel tresses? You can’t remember how many times you have bleached your hair? Shedding is more than a problem now? Style it everyday? This is the low shampoo for you! It contains a blend of six extraordinary flower oils that helps to revive your hair and replenish its health!

Dyed: Elvive Colour Protect Low Shampoo

If you dye your hair regularly but you don’t use and abuse the bleach, this one is perfect for you. It protects your color and retains its shine so you can space up the re-touches. It also contains a UV filter that acts as a shield and prevents your color from fading under the sun.

Curly: Elvive Extraordinary Oil Curl Nourishment Low Shampoo

For really curly or afro hair, this one fits perfectly the needs of heads that need a little extra love and that are naturally dry and fragile. Its detangling power is amazing and it helps you achieve perfectly defined and nourished curls!

imagen_sorteo

Why a washing cream?

These products are mainly meant for people with fragile hair. For some of you, lucky ones, this might be a term which doesn’t apply to you, but most of us have had some experiences with it. Maybe because you are a dye addict or a straightener fan, you know that some times you hair seems to be unable to take it up. Frizzy, unruly hair that has lost its health is a nightmare, and in those situations even washing it can look scary. Then fear no more! Washing creams don’t foam, they nourish your hair and leave it ready to be untangled. They don’t strip your color or your natural moisture, and they are far way gentler chemically speaking. Their cream texture makes them easier to apply and distribute, and also transforms your shower into a ritual!

How to use?

This is where the experience may differ from what you are accustomed to. Washing creams have different properties and therefore different characteristics, so pay attention to this!

1. Apply 10 to 15 pumps of the product to wet hair.

2. Massage well into the hair from scalp to ends and leave it in for three minutes.

3. Rinse carefully with water, untangling the hair with your fingers.

Gold Obsession: L’Óreal Lipstick Review

Gold is here to shine in your winter nights. As we all know, L’Óreal, if not other things, takes the fashion industry and the trends it embraces very seriously. With all the metallic fever, it was almost mandatory that they launched a special edition make-up line to go with this luxurious obsession. Purple Rain: New Regal Hue

Purple is the new black.
Step aside, blue, red and green, the new basic color for elegance is this iconic and unique blend.

purple-27
Autumn and winter are all about elegance and luxury.

No matter what your style is, the cold always suits our looks since it allows all of us to mix and match beyond our greatest fantasies. Deep hues, rich textures, precious metals and stones, black leather, polished make-up and perfect haircuts are some of the basic features of the beauty of autumn and winter fashion.
And today one of those deep hues is the star: purple.

Purple is conquering the world of fashion. Not just in street fashion or couture, but also make-up, cosmetics, arts and design. It is the perfect union of fantasy and royalty, the naive vibe of dreams and folktales and the sultry elegance of the old continent. Its versatility also covers the new century and its neon glow: techno, glam rock and the holographic wave all over. Purple is like a sci-fi fairy tale, classicism meets disco. Welcome to the purple reign.

The connection of purple color with luxury comes from far back in history.

Traditionally, it was only worn by royalty, aristocracy and members of the Church, due to the cost of purple dyes and therefore, clothing of this color. In the nineteenth century the shade mauve was created while a chemistry student tried to make synthetic quinine, which became fashionable after Queen Victoria wore a gown of this color. Shortly after this, the industrial production of some purple dyes finally settled its place among arts and fashion, managing to reach all social classes. At the end of the century, this color became then really popular among painters, like Pre-Raphaelites and later, Gustav Klimt.

Finally, in the 20th century, the oneiric quality of the color was achieved during the 60s, 70s and 80s.
During the first two decades, it became associated with psychedelics and musicians, as well as with counterculture. Some examples are Jimi Hendrix, with his song Purple Haze from 1967, or Deep Purple, the popular English rock band which formed in 1968. In the 80s, the color appeared in the song and album by Prince, Purple Rain (1984). In pop culture, it soon was one of the favorite colors for video games, still nowadays.

Couture

Winter is almost upon us and with its regal trend the use of purple in fashion collections is reaching a peak. It is being seen specially in rich textures like brocades, suede, lace, patterns and precious metals embroideries.

Beauty

Make-up and hair have also jumped into the bandwagon. Special effects are the key to this trend, metallic finishes and glitter rule over minimalist or matte looks. Holographic hues that turn to blue, pink or teal are also really popular.

Arts

The union between magenta and cyan, the two colors most used in artistic direction of movies right now, purple symbolizes uniqueness and infinite possibilities. It contains everything and at the same time can mean emptiness. The alpha and the omega.

Metallic Obsession: Last Trend

Today I bring you other post about this autumn’s fashion trends: metallic.

metals

While I was writing The Glitter Mania post I was already aware of the new metallic boom in fashion industry, but today as I wondered through the mall I realized that this trend is shooting for the stars and actually reaching them! The outer space feel is now so in right now that it is actually hard to enter a store and not find few of these amazing pieces. Jackets were already mentioned in the last post, but this fever goes far beyond: pants, blouses, dresses, skirts, coats and accessories are just a few to mention.

This season is all about shining and sparkling!

What is so great about this trend? The glamorous vibe.

All precious metal mean the same, luxury, richness, deep colors, textures and effects. Jewelry in the form of clothing. You can find a great variety of hues for this trend but the king and queen are silver and gold, while rose gold and gunmetal are a definite second place. You can find these colors in almost infinite finishes, as we said before, from sparkly, to glittery, frosted, foiled, gems, worn out or rusty.

How to wear this trend?

Fashion is always as you want it, but if you want some ideas, there are two options that seem to be the more spotted in runways and street fashion: either a total look, everything with the same fabric or finish, or a combination of one piece of clothing in a high impact metallic effect and softer matte colors close to the metallic shade selected. For example, if you are willing to rock a silver skirt, try different hues of grey for your top and shoes, or combine a golden blouse with rosy nude tones. The key to create the perfect look is to always let the metals shine, so pick simple textures and subtly saturated colors to achieve the most elegant first impression!

All in all, this trend is a must try for all fashionistas out there, specially the ones in need to feel like a diva.

And now if you want to achieve this look in a more casual way, check out these gorgeous pieces that I picked from Zara‘s editorial, which not in vane, is called Bling Bling. Now you know how serious fashion is about this trend!

Glitter Mania

Glitter is back! Autumn is already too dark, so give your look the sparkle we inherited from the 70s glam!

If the fashion war between the 80s and the 90s that we are currently experienced wasn’t enough, another decade enters the game. While the 60s rocked last summer and are as recurrent as always in make up trends, this year’s charm are the 70s. With the departure of our beloved hero, David Bowie, his style and spirit has been channeled since in every fashion innovation. Though glam rock wasn’t always necessarily so out of space, they didn’t name it ‘glam’ for nothing. He created the maximum expression of it and the whole world has been honoring his memory in the form of style for the whole year. Want to see some examples?

Many famous artists started this fever by paying homage to the man who fell to earth, recreating some of his most memorable looks and iconic moments. Not that he wasn’t already a huge influence in fashion, music and arts. A real star man.

The this turned into a whole fashion industry earthquake: the 70s were back more powerful than ever. Glitter, metallic, silver, colorful make up, and over everything, the polished style, rule all over the kingdom, spiced up by the pale, thin, out of this world look and mysterious personality that Bowie left us. Here you can see some runway pieces that fit this awesome movement.

The trend then finally joined the 80s and 90s in the clothing stores. You can already find some of these looks in your city center, luckily! If you don’t know where to start to rock this look, I’ll give you my three musts for embracing this trend.

Metallic Jacket:

The perfect item that fits all three decades, it can be styled into any of them just knowing what to add to the look. More worn out finishes give more of an 80s or 90s Pink Floyd Quicksilver look, while the real metallic or even glittery ones magically transport you to the 70s and their disco vibe. Indispensable for night outs and concerts, combined with dark colors and a color block make-up to be the real star down town.

Platforms:

Naive but daring, choose some bold and colorful platforms to go with your eclectic look! The 70s were the decade were you could mix up Victorian blouses with superhero pants and intergalactic shoes. We were all kings and queens of our own planet and the real statement of a fashion attitude resides always in the shoes! Platforms are the true soul of the disco world, so search for the most appealing ones. There are never enough effects, metallic, glitter, neon, holographic, animal print – combine two or more and you won’t leave anyone indifferent. Is this a maybe-too-much trend for some people? Yes. But I love it.

Sheer Stockings:

To finish polishing your look, and to go with everything we have mentioned, don’t forget to pack up some cool vibe stockings. Wearing them with high heels and platforms is back and skinny cut pants give them a powerful role in your look. They combine perfectly with your glam rock shoes, remember, the more the better! I personally like how colorful net stockings look with glitter shoes and also sheer shimmery dark stockings with metallic platforms or sandals. This is definitely the winning match of this season and I’ll leave you with some inspirations from now and always:

Now that you have the key to be dressed for success go burn the city down with your killer glam look. The night is young and we are too!
