MAC Mineralize Exfoliator, Mask and Studio Moisture Cream Review

We all know that MAC Cosmetics is in my opinion one of the best makeup brands ever. But what about their skincare?
Today I bring to you a little review on a few products that I received some samples of in one of my visits to my beloved MAC store.

MAC SKINCARE DEATHLESSVOGUE

Originally I was only going to review the Mineralize Volcanic Ash Exfoliator and the Mineralize Reset & Revive Charcoal mask, but since I came up with the idea of this post, I received one more skin care sample:  the Studio Moisture Cream. Mineralize Volcanic Ash Exfoliator

This is a hard working exfoliator.

First thing that I notice, it is really concentrate, I mean, it’s not one of those exfoliators where you get a few particles and a lot of cleansing formula, this is a highly dense exfoliator and you need the tiniest amount to properly exfoliate all your face, so I’m sure that the full size would last me at least a year, comparing it with my Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser from Kiehls, which I don’t use everyday but almost.

Continuing with that comparison for example, this exfoliator is really harsh. And I don’t mean that in a bad way, but in the sense that you don’t need to scrub your face super hard to get it to exfoliate your skin in depth. The most smooth massage would be enough for it to work all its magic.

I actually liked both this characteristics, the quantity of exfoliating particles and their quality made me realize this was a serious exfoliator and not your regular drugstore one with particles too big to do any job and a fancy looking colored gel. This is comparable (or this is, directly) a high end exfoliator and with the amount you need and the quality of it I find that it has great value for its price.

Also I would mention that its color (black) it’s naturally on its ingredients and that it doesn’t have perfume or fragrance, though it has a nice super subtle natural scent.

After using it, my skin felt absolutely clean and clear. It even brightened up my complexion and it didn’t leave any redness or irritation behind, which you could maybe expect from a hard working exfoliator. All in all, no complaints at all, I loved it

Will surely put them on my list of futures exfoliators, possible the next one I’ll get when I run out of my Kiehls one and the Clean Slate one from Fourth Ray Beauty , which I’m testing at the moment because it’s my first time using it, while the Kiehls one is my second tube.

Mineralize Reset & Revive Charcoal Mask

Virtually the characteristics of the mask were really similar in concept to the exfoliator: no fragrance, natural color from the ingredients, very little amount needed to cover your entire face.

A detail a would like to highlight about this one is that it wasn’t messy at all. You know how with some masks they are all inconsistent or slippery and it’s difficult to apply them properly, evenly and without making a mess. This isn’t the case. The mask is very dense and very opaque. You could apply it in little amounts till you cover your entire face using just one finger and once you have applied a little amount to a skin area, it would stay in place homogeneously. Absolutely loved how well it applied and how little I needed for my whole face.

As it dries, it’s the kind of mask with which all your pores become noticeable, and even if I still don’t have scientific back up for this opinion yet (I haven’t researched it), I like masks that do that because it makes me feel like they are working better in my pores. After about ten minutes or when it was completely dry, I rinsed it off with the help of one of those cleanser plastic pads that I actually only use to gently rub masks off.

My skin felt great afterwards, very pure and dewy but not greasy at all. The brightening effect was now even more noticeable. It left me with that kind of feeling of when your skin feels so well that you are afraid to use anything else afterwards in case you ruin the magic.

Conclusions

All in all, I loved MAC Cosmetics skincare products as much as their makeup. I really think that these products I reviewed are the kind of ones that make a great difference to your skin if you actually use them in your routine for a longer time rather than just one time, specially the exfoliator and the mask.

I would very gladly do this as soon as my budget allows me!

And that is all! I hope that you enjoyed this reviews and that you found them useful if you were curious about this products.
I hope to see you all really soon in my next article!

Lots of love!
