Focallure 18 Eyeshadows Bright Lux Palette Review

You all know by now that I have a weakness for warm toned palettes.

If you remember my article about them, warm toned palettes are not only a trend that doesn’t seem to grow old since it boomed last year, but also a blessing for me, who already wore dark red lip liner as an eyeliner in high school (dark times, dark places). In that article I presented some of the most popular palettes that followed this trend in the moment and a general overview on my opinion on the trend.
Anyhow, warm palettes are a marvelous gift from the heavens and today I bring to you the review of one of the most exquisite ones I have tried. I’m talking about the Focallure 18 Shades Full Function Palette, in the shade Bright Lux.
First of all here you can see some of the pictures from the company.

Does the shade selection looks familiar?

That’s probably is because it’s the most magnificent dupe (probably the best dupe of anything I’ve found in my whole life) of the famous Rose Gold palette from Huda Beauty.

What do I mean with a dupe?
I mean that the the quality of the Focallure palette is so fantastically amazing and I’m so impressed with it that I am actually quite shocked that it is so stunningly similar in quality. But let’s take things slowly and begin this review!

The Company

About a month ago I discover a fantastic online shop called Womental. I had been seeing their products over Instagram and I decided to take a look at their web.
In the makeup section the sell mainly Focallure products, of which I have never heard before this. The Bright Lux palette’s shades were too beautiful for me to resist it and after searching for some reviews online (all good, truth be told) I decided to get that one. They also have a Neutrals one version, that seemed more practical for everyday looks, but if you follow me on Instagram you know that I’m not that much intro practicality and that I can’t help falling in love with everything that shines, sparkles or has glitter. And also holographic stuff but that’s a subject for another day.

Returning to the palette,  after a lot of debate and scrolling up and down the site, I set my mind on that one and hoped for the results to be as good as they seemed on the internet. Obviously, I had my doubts, but this was probably the time that I learned to be open minded about makeup.

The brand

While my package was on its way, I did a bit of research about Focallure. They are a cruelty free brand (GOOD) that apparently is only available online through their own website or through resellers, and that specializes in makeup and beauty. They have a hue variety of products at amazing prices, and the fact that they sell to resellers too really pleases me, since they help and support growing business like the wonderful website where I discovered this brand, Womental. More point to them for that.

The package

The time passed and my very excitedly expected packaged finally arrived. First of all I must say a really big thank you to Womental. What was my surprise when I opened it that not only my palette was there in a perfect state (and it arrived pretty quickly from far far away, I must say) but also three lip products that were a complete bliss and that were sent as a gift.

Womental can have their five golden stars for this amazing service and customer care!

Now to the core of the question. The Focallure palette was in my hands and all I had to do was open it and swatch it and the truth will be revealed. I did. And guess what?

It was as amazing as the one from Huda. No, I’m not kidding. This is some serious business. Really serious.

Even if you are not searching for a Huda Rose Gold dupe but just for an amazingly pigmented and beautiful warm toned palette that can battle Modern Renaissance and win, this is the palette for you.

Concerning the packaging, I loved the overall feeling of it. The Focallure palette looks luxurious but elegant, shiny black with the right dosage of gold/rose gold details and a magnetic lock. Just perfect.

The shadows

There are seven foiled shadows, one shimmery shadow and ten matte shadows. I first swatched the foiled ones (obviously) and I was so so surprised. The pigmentation is like one I’ve never seen before. You can swatch them with your fingers and then swatch them in your arms and they’ll still look as if you had put eyeshadow primer under them. Perfect. Just perfect. The colors were perfect too.

At first I thought that the matte ones weren’t as pigmented but this was only that it took more than one finger swatch to get the surface of the shadow out of their ‘baked’ state. After this, oh my, the pigmentation on those too. The reds, pinks and burgundies look so so beautiful on the eyes. Just wait and see.

For the shimmery white shadow, the same thing happened as with the matte ones.

So, all of them were the perfect quality. And I’m saying perfect, which is not something I say that easily. The shadows are as I’ve said amazingly pigmented, the texture is buttery just to the right amount and they are still so easy to work with and blend. They are also long lasting and water resistant. You will need a good set of brushes for this palette because well, it is what you call a professional palette. No kidding.

Here you have a bonus video if you want to see that shimmering action!

As soon as I ended the swatching phase, I went straight to creating some looks to see how the Focallure eyeshadows worked on the eyes and with actual brushes. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves!

This look was a more or bright look where I gave a try at the cut creased trend. I mainly used Wine, Terracota, Toffee, Indian Red as a transition color and Moonlight and Garnet to highlight the lid, the corner of the eye and the browbone. Also I used extra Toffe and some Carbon on the outer corner of the eye to polish it up! I used a little of Lash Paradise mascara from L’Óreal and that’s it!

✨Night Lux✨ . And here’s the other look I made with the #focallure palette from @womental! . The colors are really similar but this is more of like a bold version, there’s more contrast and the brow bone isn’t highlighted. I also add some glitter and eyeliner and blended the cut crease so it will be more subtle! . Products used: @focallure 18 Colors Eyeshadow Palette in Bright Lux @lorealmakeup Lash Paradise Mascara @catrice.cosmetics Eyeliner Pen Waterproof version in black @wetnwildbeauty Color Icon Glitter in ‘Bleached’ . I really hope you enjoyed this one too. In this one I tried to give a date nigh twist on the first look. It is more dark since it has more of the Wine color the outer color is a lighter mix of this one and Toffee. The cut crease is blended with someof this too, and the color Terracota goes up to the brow without highlighting. For the inner corner, I used Garnet, Moonlight, Bisque and some Wet n Wild Color Icon glitter in the shade ‘Bleached’. This time, I added a winged eyeliner with Catrice Eye Liner Pen in waterproof black and again the Lash Paradise mascara from L’Óreal.

I know that both of the looks are really similar regarding the color choice but that was totally my fault. It was my first ever warm palette and I wanted to play with those reds and pinks like crazy. Also, I must say that it was my first time trying a cut crease and I always thought the best colors for that technique are burgundies.

This palette is really versatile and in the next round I take at it I’ll sure be looking to create something quite different with the more gold/brown/orange section of the palette.
If you want to see how those turn out, stay tuned!

Conclusion

I just want to thank Womental for their fantastic service, their kindness and for introducing me to such an amazing makeup brand. I couldn’t be happier with this, and though this is mainly a review of the palette, I must say that the lip products they sent me were fantastic too (and smelled divine), so you will probably see a review about those around here soon, as well as some pictures in my Instagram (which I already took!).
You have to check out their shop, they also sell accessories, hair items, jewelry and what not!

This has been a very positive experience and I encourage you all to go out there and try and search and to look always beyond.

And of course I recommend this palette to all of you who can’t afford Anastasia Beverly Hills or Huda Beauty and still want to feel like a Hollywood starlet, because you deserve it!

I really hope you enjoyed this and lots of love!
